The Dun Cow pub, just a couple of doors down, is a great spot for an early evening drink with good ale and engaging locals. The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of bars and restaurants and you'll find plenty of options in the surrounding area. Although we were disappointed that the hotel's dining room was closed, it gave us a chance to explore Durham by night. While it's not fair to judge the nightlife during the pandemic, OYO The Townhouse is very central and within a 5/10 minute walk to all the bars and restaurants. However, keep in mind that there may be some noise from delivery trucks and roadworks going on all day and night. Nonetheless, if you want easy access to Durham's nightlife scene, OYO The Townhouse is a great base for your explorations.
