Location

OYO The Townhouse is an excellent choice for those who want to be in the heart of Durham. The location is perfect, being very central and just a short walk to the city center. The hotel is surrounded by plenty of restaurants, bars and shops and even boasts nice views both front and back. Guests loved being able to go for walks along the riverside, which takes you right into Durham shops and also being able to see Durham Cathedral from the hotel. The Dun Cow pub, just a couple of doors away, was the perfect spot for an early evening drink. The staff were very kind and the hotel is in a quiet location overlooking fields. This hidden gem is located on an attractive, quiet road which offers a nice area to walk around. All in all, OYO The Townhouse offers an excellent location for couples wanting something nice in a good location.

While it's not fair to judge the nightlife during the pandemic, OYO The Townhouse is very central and within a 5/10 minute walk to all the bars and restaurants. However, keep in mind that there may be some noise from delivery trucks and roadworks going on all day and night. Nonetheless, if you want easy access to Durham's nightlife scene, OYO The Townhouse is a great base for your explorations.
