The Oaks Port Douglas Resort offers a fantastic location for those wanting to relax away from the hustle and bustle of town, while still being conveniently accessible to everything. The hotel is a short drive from the shops and marina and within walking distance (max 10 min) to 4 Mile Beach. It is also ideally located for trips to the Daintree Rainforest/Cape Tribulation. While it is a little further out from town, guests can easily access the hotel via the courtesy shuttle bus or by car. Overall, guests found the location to be great, excellent, brilliant and perfect.

Breakfast

The breakfast at the Oaks Port Douglas Resort received mixed reviews from guests. Some guests praised the breakfast for its good variety and being well-prepared, while others found it basic with limited options and poor quality. Those with special dietary requirements found the options lacking. Some guests were disappointed by the high cost of breakfast, while others enjoyed the convenience of the buffet. Still, the staff was quick to provide better options for those with complaints about dirty rooms or broken facilities. Overall, the resort offers a variety of room options with positive experiences of nice, clean and comfy rooms.

Despite a few negative comments about grumpy, tired and rude staff members, the majority of staff were friendly and attentive with many going above and beyond to ensure guests had a wonderful stay. One guest even reported that staff were attentive to their needs before they even had to ask for anything. The only significant negative comment was about Hannah at reception, who was described as rude and unhelpful. Overall, guests at Oaks Port Douglas Resort were impressed with the exceptional service provided by the friendly and helpful staff.

Wi-Fi

During our stay at Oaks Port Douglas Resort, we had decent wifi access, although some guests experienced poor to non-existent wifi connection in their rooms. While some guests had trouble connecting Netflix, Stan and YouTube on their TVs, the in-room wifi worked properly for others. A handful of guests had trouble getting in touch with reception, while others found the TV reception to be hit and miss. Overall, while there were some issues with the wifi, most guests were able to connect and enjoy their stay.

Pool

And while some guests found the pool bar and swim-up bar to be understocked or attract noisy behaviour, most people loved the food and drink options available. The pool is the highlight of the resort, attracting praise for its size, temperature and atmosphere. Whether you're lounging in the sun or taking a dip in the water, the pool at Oaks Port Douglas Resort is truly amazing.

Family

Oaks Port Douglas Resort is a fantastic choice for families with children. The pool is a good size and has a pool bar, making it convenient for parents to relax while keeping an eye on their little ones. The onsite shop and grocery are also a great addition. Our kids were so happy that they could spend the whole day in the pool and the family atmosphere was amazing. The rooms were big enough for a family, providing a comfortable stay. Ice cream and pizza were available for the kids, which they loved. The buffet breakfast was convenient, although we would have liked more dining options for families. The resort pool was a hit and the value for families or groups was impressive. The resort backs onto the nature reserve, providing a safe outdoor play area for children. Unfortunately, there were limited options for in-room food and no Netflix for kids. We also wished that the room had more facilities to make it more family friendly. Despite the minor inconveniences, our stay here was a highlight of our vacation. However, managing dinner with small children was quite challenging and the absence of disabled bathrooms was disappointing. Overall, the Oaks Port Douglas Resort is an excellent choice for a family-friendly vacation.

Outdoor Pool

If you're looking to relax by the pool on your next vacation, you'll love the outdoor pool at Oaks Port Douglas Resort. The pool facilities are lovely and the swim up bar is the perfect touch for those who want to sip on a drink while they cool off. Families will appreciate the great family atmosphere and there's plenty of seating and space around the pool for everyone. The location is fantastic and the breakfast is well prepared. While the pool area doesn't have much atmosphere once the swim up bar closes, the pool itself is great and the set out with the swim up bar was what initially attracted some guests to the property. All in all, if you're looking for a resort pool with plenty of amenities and space to relax, this is a great choice.
