Ye Olde Bell Hotel & Spa offers a good value for money with friendly and helpful staff. It's an excellent overnight stay for those looking for a historic atmosphere of an old coaching inn. The location is ideal and the breakfast is fine. The bathroom in the room is great with a comfy bed to rest on. However, some guests found the evening meal to be boring and expensive. SPA session should be booked well in advance as it is not included in the room rate. It's one of the best spas some guests have ever been to, even though the full-day price is £200pp excluding extras. The SPA's evening price starts at £75. The hotel has a beautiful setting, but some guests commented on the extremely tired decor and untidy communal areas. Some guests had unpleasant experiences with the reception and restaurant staff and food. Nevertheless, its exceptional value for money makes it a lovely little place to stay despite not delivering the 4-star experience promised when booking.
