Is there anything that you would like to highlight, add or clarify?
We do not have official ‘accreditation’ as there is no one in Bali who can do that for us.
However, we do:
No plastic bottles of water. All guests have unlimited water and a glass jug of freshly filtered drinking water. We use a Nazada water filter for unlimited filtered drinking water.
We belong to the Refill My Bottle program which allows ANYONE, not just our guests to refill their water bottle for free!
We do NOT purchase imported food. All food is purchased from local (<5kms) markets and directly from farmers. Always Organic wherever possible.
We make our own sourdough bread and breakfast food is locally sourced and made In-House.
We recycle all our food waste.
We have 2 active compost bins.
We also have a worm farm for feeding the veggie garden.
We grow veggies and herbs for use in breakfast and a papaya tree for fresh fruit.
I dehydrate fruits in-season so I can use at another time in the year when fruits not in season.
We do not waste food. We convert left over food into jams, spreads and / or freeze extra produce.
We do not spray any chemicals.
We reduce mosquitos by using practices and plants that do not allow water to collect. No standing water that does not contain fish and the dragonfly population eat 1,000 mosquito larvae/day.
All guests receive a cloth bag to use when shopping. The words "Refuse Plastic Bags" are written in both English and in Bahasa Indonesian. They can take this bag home.
We have recycling service and a green waste collection service if we have too much organic waste. This is recycled by our local community and used on the community vegetable garden.
We also participate in our communities' Bank Sampah/rubbish bank which donates food in exchange for recyclable products.
