Multiple reviewers reported long wait times for their orders to be delivered or for staff to take their orders. Some guests had a mixed experience with the food with some labeling it as "awful" or "really bad". Others were disappointed with the small portions and high prices. Compounding the issues was the fact that the hotel seemed to struggle with logistics with some guests unable to book a table at 9 PM and others forced to eat in the bar instead of the restaurant. However, despite these issues, some guests did enjoy the hotel's dining options, especially for family meals.

From the reviews of previous guests, it's clear that the hotel takes its beds seriously. While some people found the beds a bit uncomfortable due to the join in the middle, the majority of guests praised the beds for their comfort and good quality mattresses. Many guests even went out of their way to mention the sheer size of the beds with some describing them as massive. In addition to the comfortable sleeping arrangements, guests also appreciated the thoughtfully designed rooms and bathrooms. The only minor issue mentioned by a few guests was the condition of some of the pillows, but it seems that the hotel staff were quick to provide additional pillows upon request. All in all, it's clear that this hotel aims to provide its guests with a comfortable and restful stay.

Staff
The staff at DoubleTree by Hilton Oxford Belfry received mixed reviews from guests. Some guests reported being charged extra without their consent and facing difficulty getting refunds. However, there were many positive reviews citing excellent service from reception staff, servers in the bar and restaurant and even the spa staff. Some guests were even given special accommodations for dietary needs. While some guests had difficulty locating the spa area or found the lighting and cleanliness lacking, overall the spa facilities were a welcome addition to a short spa night stay.

Pool
The DoubleTree by Hilton Oxford Belfry offers a decent, though sometimes cold swimming pool, which unfortunately was closed during some guests' visits. The pool and gym were praised for being among the best of hotels, however, the swimming times for children were seen as too restricted by some. Some guests were disappointed by a large group of noisy children disrupting their swim, while others were happy to have the pool entirely to themselves in the evenings. Unfortunately, some guests reported a lack of towels in the swim area and on one occasion, the pool was entirely unavailable. Overall, your vehicle will be well taken care of during your stay at the DoubleTree by Hilton Oxford Belfry.

Family
The DoubleTree by Hilton Oxford Belfry is a family-friendly hotel, great for a meal with the family and accommodating to families with children. However, some guests noted that the hotel was being used to house migrants and refugees, resulting in noise from children running up and down corridors and single males and families scattered throughout the hotel with nothing to do. While some guests found their rooms comfortable and spacious for their families, others noted the lack of kid options and children not under control, leading to racing prams in the hallways. The swimming pool was a popular attraction but could get overcrowded during family swim times and staff did not enforce the rules. Despite some organizational issues and concerns, the hotel was still in an ideal location for spending Christmas with family nearby and had plenty of room for accommodating groups, including those with young children.
