Is there anything that you would like to highlight, add or clarify?
More Africa is an NGO. Besides eco friendly, we also try to promote sustainable, responsible tourism and community based tourism. Our guesthouse finances our school for unique talents with special needs. We want to inform guests about the do's and dont's. We want to introduce people to the real Zanzibar, its culture, norms, values and customs. Explain to people why you should dress appropriately, why you should not pick up starfish, why it is not a good idea to ride a jet ski etc.
We recycle our waste; on an island like Zanzibar there is mainly a lot of plastic waste, which mostly ends up in the villages or in the sea. We therefore have no plastic bottles, but use a water dispenser with 15 liter recycled water bottles. We sell reusable bottles. We recycle our glass together with another NGO working on Zanzibar. In this way we try to do our part for a better world tomorrow.
