Former Castle HotelThe history of Schloßhotel Althörnitz goes as far back as the mid 17th century, when the castle started being constructed by a famous architect for the mayor, Dr. Christian von Hartig. The smaller tower of the castle was added in 1853, while the atrium was added in 1892. The castle was also famous because on its premises the research for what would become the renowned European porcelain took place in the 18th century. The castle was turned into the luxurious hotel that it is today in 1996, providing a place of relaxation and period atmosphere to every guest.
