Summary of reviews
Summarized by AI
Hotel des Tailles in Mortagne-au-Perche offers a captivating experience highlighted by numerous positive reviews across various categories. Its prime location within an 18th-century chateau in the heart of the city makes it an ideal base for exploring local attractions like cozy terraces, quaint restaurants, and a lively Saturday market. Despite its central position, guests enjoy a serene atmosphere that promises a restful experience, complemented by the convenience of easy parking and the welcoming presence of the hotel host.
The breakfast at Hotel des Tailles is frequently lauded as exceptional, with generous and varied offerings, including fresh bread, pastries, cold cuts, and seasonal fruits. Guests enjoy hearty meals often served in garden settings, enhanced by delightful decor. The inclusion of homemade jams and charcuterie platters adds a traditional touch, making mornings memorable and often referred to by guests as the best breakfast they've ever had.
Rooms at the hotel offer a unique blend of old-world charm and modern comfort, often resembling museum spaces. Spacious and tranquil, garden-side rooms offer restful nights with comfortable, large beds. The harmonious blend of antique furnishings and modern touches creates an eccentric yet beautiful atmosphere. Families appreciate interconnected rooms with shared bathrooms, and guests relish views of the serene courtyard. While some rooms under the eaves and a few bathrooms could benefit from improvements, these minor points do not detract from the overall charm and authenticity.
Cleanliness is generally well-regarded, with tidy environments and comfortable beds contributing to a peaceful stay. Although minor issues such as cobwebs and peeling paint in some bathrooms are occasionally noted, they remain secondary to the overall impression of a clean environment.
A standout feature of Hotel des Tailles is its outstanding staff, consistently praised for their friendliness and attentiveness. Arthur, in particular, is highlighted for his charm and helpfulness, aided by his proficiency in English, ensuring seamless communication for international guests.
