The Sentinel Hotel is a centrally located historic building with an excellent location for exploring downtown Portland. Guests loved the convenience of the location, as it is within walking distance to many restaurants, pubs and entertainment venues. The hotel also has good connections to public transport, making it easy to explore the city. The location can't be beaten and the hotel provides direct access to the city. Guests loved the convenience of the central location with multiple restaurants and attractions close by. Although some guests noted that the location can be noisy, overall the location was excellent and perfect for those looking to explore downtown Portland. The hotel is situated in a great location for downtown sightseeing with many local restaurants and shopping options within walking distance. The hotel's location worked well for those attending events at the nearby Coliseum. Overall, guests found that the location of the hotel made it an excellent choice for a city break with many praising the convenience of the location and its proximity to local restaurants, pubs and attractions.

The hotel has a mix of modern, spacious and clean rooms with a charming old world stately decor which some find welcoming, while others found it to be dated or tired. Though, for some guests, the beds are doubles and the bathrooms are a bit small. Overall, Sentinel Hotel has lovely comfortable rooms and there is a room size to cater for everyone's needs.
