The hotel is a typical example of Mani architecture. The defensive fort complex of the historic Arapaki family was converted into a hotel of self-contained studios and apartments. The seafarer Petros Arapakis, who discovered the caves of Diros in 1884 and traveled around the world on the sailing ship Pandora, was born and lived there. Not only is it central and easily accessible to all the sights of the lakonian mani, but it is also set in a very quiet place, making it a great base to explore Deep Mani. Many reviewers loved the scenic views of the surrounding mountains and the possible excursions available, such as visiting the famous caves and both Inner and Outer Mani. Guests appreciated the self-contained units which had all the facilities needed to make their stay comfortable, including a large terrace to enjoy the sunshine. The hotel is less than 10 minutes from Areopoli and about half an hour from Gytheio, which received great reviews. Many also complimented the kitchen which came equipped with a dishwasher.
