Location
Hillcrest hotel boasts a fantastic location that puts guests within walking distance to all the must-visit locations in town. It takes only 25 minutes to get to the center, making it an excellent choice for those who love to explore on foot. Cabbage Beach in Paradise Island can easily be reached within a 45-minute walk, while Nassau Town Center is around 20 to 30 minutes away. Apart from the proximity to these great attractions, Hillcrest is also strategically located near the port, making it convenient for those arriving via cruise ships. The hotel is not in the downtown area but is still within a good distance to major attractions that are all within walking distance. Guests also have easy access to a grocery store and a casino in the area. However, some guests caution about the property's location, stating that it is a bit further from downtown than they initially thought, while others find it dangerous when walking outside the hotel. Nevertheless, the majority agree that the location is ideal for a Bahamas getaway.

Rooms
Hillcrest may not be in the best location, but when it comes to the rooms, guests have mixed opinions. Some found the rooms uncomfortable, small and outdated, while others experienced clean and comfy accommodation. One guest even celebrated the spacious and comfortable room equipped with a fridge, a microwave and excellent AC. Though a few complained about the lack of privacy and faulty plumbing in the toilet, others found no trouble with their stay. Guests found the fee for cleaning to be steep and the bed wasn't the most comfortable. However, some appreciated the coffee machine in the room, even though they had to procure their coffee. Overall, Hillcrest's rooms are hit or miss, but as a hostel, it's pretty good.

Cleanliness
Guests at Hillcrest have varying reviews on the cleanliness of the hotel. While some guests reported dirty bathrooms and old floors, others mentioned how nice and clean the establishment was. Some guests even described the place as "so clean" and comfy. However, there were also some negative reviews about the room being dirty and dated with dirt in every corner and multiple cockroaches. Despite this, some guests mentioned that the staff tried their best to clean daily with bleach and an old broom, but the floors still looked old and dirty. Certain guests also faced confrontations from staff when the smallest bits of sand from the beach were found in the shower. Suggestions were made by some guests for repairs in the bathroom and for the staff to be more diligent about wearing masks. Overall, Hillcrest has mixed reviews on the cleanliness, but some guests have praised it for being clean and well put together.
