Hotel Taking Steps Towards SustainabilityThis hotel is the first in Seattle to achieve LEED Gold Certification and holds the maximum 5 Green Keys. It uses 30% less water and 18% less energy through efficient systems and occupancy sensors. During construction, 95% of waste was diverted from landfills, and regionally sourced, recycled materials were utilized. The hotel employs a green cleaning policy, offers housekeeping every third day unless requested, and uses refillable large format bathroom amenities. It donates untouched food to Food Lifeline and sources 50% local food and 60% sustainable seafood. Additionally, it participates in King County's Transfer of Development Rights program, protecting 5,285 acres of forest and 5 acres of farmland.
