Guest House Taking Steps Towards SustainabilityThis ecolodge is a pioneer in sustainable tourism in Morocco, located within the UNESCO-designated Argan forest. It was built using traditional, environmentally friendly techniques and materials like rammed earth, tadelakt, stone, and wood. The lodge employs local people from nearby Berber villages and supports local communities and women's cooperatives. It implements extensive environmental measures including a unique wastewater purification system using aquatic plants, utilization of renewable energy sources like solar power, rainwater harvesting, and composting organic waste. They offer organic food, much of which is grown on-site in their permaculture garden, and use natural and organic beauty products from local cooperatives. Atlas Kasbah has received numerous awards for its commitment to sustainable development, including the World Responsible Tourism Award and the Green Key Ecolabel.
