Summary of reviews
Summarized by AI
Hotel Allmer receives substantial praise for its prime location, nestled centrally across from the main square and near the exquisite spa park. Guests find its proximity to urban amenities and natural beauty, such as the Bad Gleichenberg thermal baths, highly appealing. Despite its central setting, the hotel maintains a peaceful ambiance, providing a quiet retreat with easy access to key points of interest.
The breakfast offerings at Hotel Allmer are frequently commended with a diverse and visually appealing buffet that includes fresh regional products and highlights such as sparkling wine. Guests appreciate the clean and inviting ambiance of the breakfast room and the friendly service. Although there are occasional comments about the freshness of the pastries, the overall sentiment remains very positive.
Dinner at Hotel Allmer also receives favorable reviews. Guests praise the taste, quality and presentation of the food with a variety of options including fish, meat and vegetarian dishes. The intimate dining atmosphere and flexible service times add to the positive experience, despite some minor critiques about the buffet selection for appetizers and side dishes.
The rooms at Hotel Allmer offer a mix of experiences. Guests appreciate the spaciousness, cleanliness and pleasant views of the garden or park. However, some rooms are described as outdated with old furnishings and could benefit from updates to align with a four-star hotel's standards. Comfort issues, such as the lack of air conditioning and variable room temperatures, are noted, but the overall room experience is generally positive.
Cleanliness is a strong point for Hotel Allmer, particularly in the wellness and spa areas, where thorough and attentive staff contribute to a pleasant stay. Despite some outdated interiors, the cleanliness of the facilities stands out. However, there are minor critiques about specific areas like the dining room floor and hotel entrance not always meeting expectations.
The staff at Hotel Allmer are frequently highlighted for their exceptional friendliness and attentiveness. Guests describe the team as welcoming, polite and accommodating, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere throughout the hotel. Personalised services, such as train station pick-ups, add a thoughtful touch, although one review mentions a less favorable experience with the breakfast buffet staff.
The spa facilities are highly praised for being clean, comprehensive and offering a range of therapies and amenities. Guests appreciate the panoramic pool, great terrace and wonderful views. The convenient and quiet location further enhances the spa experience, making it a noteworthy highlight for visitors.
Finally, the pool area receives mixed reviews. While the panoramic indoor pool is appreciated for its surroundings and warm temperature, some guests find the water could be warmer and the pool size underwhelming. The beds also garner mixed feedback with some guests finding the mattresses too hard and commenting on disturbances from ventilation noise. Despite these critiques, elements like lush and additional pillows are positively noted.
In summary, Hotel Allmer excels in its location, breakfast, dinner offerings, cleanliness, staff service and spa facilities. While there are areas for improvement concerning room updates and bed comfort, the overall guest experience is largely positive, making it a desirable destination.
