Former Castle HotelThe very first mention of a fortress located exactly where Schlosshotel Steinburg stands today was noted as far back as the 13th century. Its fortification apparently was not as invincible as it was thought to be, resulting in the castle being completely destroyed. In the late 19th century, the castle ruins were reconstructed in order to house a restaurant which quickly closed down due to various reasons. In the 1930s, the castle was once again renovated, with some amendments being done to its turrets, and it was turned into a hotel in the 1950s.
