Location
The Royal Court Hotel & Spa Coventry boasts a great location for guests with easy access from the local area and not too far from the city centre. Set in a lovely building surrounded by parkland, the hotel's out-of-town location is great for certain aspects, while still conveniently located for NEC access. The staff are professional and friendly and there is ample parking available. The hotel offers a nice setting with lighted places outside and the rooms themselves are a good size. However, guests should be aware that the postcode listed on booking.com is incorrect and may lead them to a care home down the road. Overall, the location and setting of this hotel will leave guests feeling satisfied.

Breakfast
Guest reviews of the breakfast at Royal Court Hotel & Spa Coventry are mixed. Some guests thought the buffet breakfast was good with a hot and tasty selection, including delicious bacon. However, others were disappointed with the poor quality of the food with some describing it as bland and tasteless. Queuing for breakfast was a common issue due to the restaurant's limited capacity to handle the number of guests. The price of breakfast was considered expensive by some, especially given the limited selection of foods. Some guests suggested a toast/croissant, juice and coffee option would have been good, rather than paying a high price for a buffet. In addition, some guests were unhappy with the cold coffee and the fact that the food was not hot enough. Overall, the breakfast receives mixed reviews with some guests loving it, while others were less impressed with the selection and quality of the food and the high price.

Dinner
When it comes to dinner at Royal Court Hotel & Spa Coventry, reviews are mixed. Some guests found the restaurant to have a set menu with limited options, while others enjoyed their evening meal. Some liked the food, citing the roast gammon as excellent and tasty options, while others found it to be bland, poor quality and not very hot. Additionally, guests found the buffet dinner and breakfast to be overpriced and not worth the money. Some even found the vegetables to be visibly frozen and overcooked. There were occasional issues with cleanliness, such as dirty tables and bar tables that needed cleaning. Despite the mixed reviews, some guests did enjoy their carvery dinner and found the food selection to be good. Overall, dining at this hotel seems to be hit-or-miss with room for improvement in the menu and food arrangements.

Rooms
Guest reviews of the Royal Court Hotel & Spa Coventry are mixed when it comes to the rooms. While some describe them as spacious, clean and well-equipped with amenities such as kettles and hair dryers, others criticize them as outdated, tired and in need of refurbishment. Guests complained of uncomfortable beds, mismatched furnishings and inadequate heating or lighting. Some rooms also had issues with dampness, mould or dirty carpets. Despite these drawbacks, some guests still found the rooms comfortable and cosy, offering good value for the price. However, others were disappointed by the lack of basic facilities such as showers or the advertised spa amenities. Overall, guests recommend the hotel for its proximity to local attractions, but advise that the rooms may not meet the expectations of those seeking a modern, luxurious stay.

Beds
Guests have mixed feelings about the beds at Royal Court Hotel & Spa Coventry. While some found the beds comfortable and had a great night's sleep, others had issues with the beds. Some guests complained of uncomfortable beds with hard mattresses and lumpy pillows. There were also reports of guests feeling the springs in the mattress and wanting the manager to change the bed. Some guests also mentioned that the bedding didn't fit the beds and there were no extra pillows. However, there were also positive comments about the beds with guests mentioning comfortable and decent-sized rooms, comfy beds and pillows. Overall, it seems that the quality of the beds varies and some guests may find them uncomfortable.

Cleanliness
Guest reviews of the Royal Court Hotel & Spa in Coventry vary widely when it comes to cleanliness. Many guests noted that the hotel was not in great condition with some rooms badly in need of refurbishment and maintenance. However, there were also numerous comments highlighting the cleanliness of the hotel, particularly the spa facilities. Some guests had negative experiences with dirty bathrooms and rooms that hadn't been properly cleaned, while others found their rooms were clean enough for a comfortable stay. Some guests also noted that there were areas of the hotel, particularly the outdoor pathways and parking lot, that were in need of attention. Overall, it seems that while the Royal Court Hotel may not be the height of luxury, it can offer a decent stay at a basic level of cleanliness for a reasonable price.

Staff
The reviews of the staff at Royal Court Hotel & Spa Coventry are mixed. While some guests found them to be lovely, friendly and very accommodating, others complained of unfriendly and abrupt behavior, particularly among bar and restaurant staff. Some guests reported that staff were slow to notice their arrival or were not very informative, while others found them helpful and understanding. A few guests specifically mentioned difficulties with reception staff, who were occasionally clueless or appeared disinterested. Despite some negative reviews, many guests found staff to be friendly and professional, particularly in communal areas like the gym and pool. Some guests also had specific shout-outs to helpful staff members, such as a receptionist with the initials MM. A few guests mentioned specific incidents of rude or discourteous staff, but these were relatively rare. All in all, while some guests had difficulty with staff at the hotel, many others found them to be pleasant and helpful.

Wi-Fi
The Royal Court Hotel & Spa Coventry offers amenities such as a pool and spa, but unfortunately, guests were disappointed with the hotel's wifi policy. Many were surprised to find that they had to pay for wifi in their rooms with some calling the price "ridiculous" and "extortionate". Even those who did pay for wifi were often disappointed, as the PAID-for wifi was said not to reach some rooms or allegedly fixed, but still not working. Some guests were frustrated by the lack of wifi reception or network altogether in their rooms. However, some found the free wifi in the communal areas to be useful. Guests were vocal about their disappointment with some suggesting that in this day and age, wifi should be free for all guests.

Spa
The Royal Court Hotel & Spa in Coventry boasts great leisure facilities, including a spa that offers a variety of treatments. However, guests have mentioned some discrepancies regarding the advertised spa amenities. Although clean, some of the spa facilities, such as the jacuzzi and steam room, were out of operation and guests had to pay extra to use the swimming pool. Some guests were disappointed that the jacuzzi and steam room were not available despite being advertised. Despite these setbacks, the leisure facilities were still considered good and guests appreciated being close to where they needed to be.

Pool
The Royal Court Hotel & Spa Coventry is a popular choice amongst travelers looking for a comfortable and convenient stay in the area. While the hotel offers a pool, guests should note that there is an additional charge for using it. Unfortunately, the pool does close early on weekends, so plan accordingly. Swimming is also a separate charge, so keep that in mind when booking. If you do decide to take a dip, the pool is nice but keep in mind that it can be cold and dreary. Just be aware that you must pay a separate fee to use the Jacuzzi, which some guests reported was filthy. Lastly, note that the pool is only open at certain times, so be sure to check the hours before heading down.

Business
Royal Court Hotel & Spa Coventry is a reasonable quality large traditional hotel that is convenient for business travelers as it is close to the NEC and work locations. Despite this, some guests have reported that the hotel could benefit from some upgrades as the facilities appear outdated. Other minor complaints include a late check-in time of 4pm and early check-out of 10am and having to pay for Wi-Fi and phone calls. However, guests were pleased to find some unique features such as trouser presses in their rooms. The restaurant could use some TLC, but overall, the hotel was considered a welcoming place for a business overnight stay. Unfortunately, guests also felt that the hotel missed opportunities to offer extra services, such as breakfast, which they would have been willing to pay for.

Historic
Welcome to the Royal Court Hotel & Spa Coventry – a lovely building steeped in history. While it is visually stunning to look at from the exterior, the interior is disappointingly dated and tired. It's obvious that the owners/operators stopped taking care of the building a decade ago, as the rooms and facilities are very worn out and in need of renovation. That being said, the property boasts lovely grounds and it's nice to have meals in the old house on the grounds. Although, some guests were disappointed that the accommodation and swimming pool didn't match the advertised photos. Nonetheless, the Royal Court Hotel & Spa Coventry is a reasonable quality traditional hotel, but it would benefit greatly from some investment back into its business.
