You'll be steps away from both UNC campus as well as shops and restaurants on Franklin Street. The hotel also offers a shuttle service for easy transportation. The location is great for visiting UNC and exploring all that Chapel Hill has to offer. You can walk to downtown with its restaurants and shops, as well as museums and theaters. Plus, the room and town setting are fabulous. Other guests raved about the easy walking distance to campus and Franklin Street and that the location is perfect for visiting the university or medical center. Regardless of what brings you to Chapel Hill, the Carolina Inn's location, comfort and facilities will make your stay an excellent one.

Though a little pricey, the good selection and great food and drinks make it worth it. The on-site restaurant also serves great breakfast and the coffee is outstanding. Despite some negative feedback here and there, overall, guests are satisfied with the breakfast. The hotel is updated yet maintains its historic charm. The lobby and rooms are beautifully decorated with a perfect Southern Inn feel. However, some guests experienced poor sound-proofing against hall noise and suggested that the room's technology could be upgraded. Despite some rooms being a little small, they were spotless, warm and comfortable.
