The Rose in Vale Country House Hotel boasts of having a lovely swimming pool, which for many guests was a big bonus. The outdoor heated pool was especially appreciated, allowing guests to take a dip even on cooler days. However, some guests found the swimming pool to be smaller than expected and had some issues with the depth with some areas being only a metre deep. Unfortunately, there were times when the pool was closed and some guests found it to be dirty. The pool area can also use a makeover with some safety equipment like the Perry buoy being grown over. Nonetheless, having an outdoor pool in the hotel was still great for many guests, even though the hotel could not accommodate them for an evening meal one night, despite the seemingly empty restaurant.

The Penventon Park Hotel has a great asset in their pool with many guests enjoying a morning swim, as well as kids loving it too. Although the pool can get busy as it is not only available to hotel guests, the spacious and heated pool is worth it. However, some guests did mention a few issues such as a restricted timetable for children or not being able to use the pool outside of family time. Despite this, many guests loved the pool and found it to be a highlight of their stay. The only downside seems to be the wait time for drinks by the pool and the fact that there wasn't much else to do for children if the pool wasn't available. Overall, the location, spa, restaurant and friendly staff added to the positive experience.
