Summary of reviewsMacdonald Lochanhully Resort is a great value for money option for families looking for a relaxing and peaceful stay in the beautiful Scottish Highlands. Set in picturesque woodland surroundings, it provides excellent walking opportunities and a great base for exploring the local area. The accommodation is comfortable and equipped with beautiful views from the chalets. However, the lack of dining options on-site left guests disappointed, although the well-equipped kitchen facilities compensated for this. While some lodges require updating and have issues with cleanliness, the lovely location and helpful staff ensure a great stay. The swimming pool received mixed reviews, but when available, it was warm and well-equipped with floats and toys for children. The resort is dog-friendly, but with expensive charges and some guests have experienced issues with other dog owners not cleaning up after their pets. Overall, Macdonald Lochanhully Resort is still a pet-friendly location and an excellent getaway for families looking for a short break in the summer.

The facilities are good and the accommodation is comfortable and well equipped with some beautiful views from the chalets. Overall, the resort offers a great value for the money and is highly recommended for anyone looking for a quiet, scenic and family-friendly getaway in the Scottish Highlands.

Dinner
Guests of the Macdonald Lochanhully Resort have expressed their disappointment regarding the lack of dining options available on site. Some guests were not informed beforehand that there would be no food served at the resort, leading to frustration upon arrival. The restaurant was closed during some guests' stays, leaving them with no options to eat on site except for cheese toasties and paninis. Additionally, some guests were disappointed with the poor selection of drinks at the bar. Unfortunately, the restaurant and bar have been shut down this year, leaving no on-site dining or drinking options. Some guests had to travel to the next town in search of food, which was not ideal after a long journey to the resort. Many guests expressed their wish that the restaurant on site was still open and the lack of food and drink options negatively impacted their experience at the resort.

Rooms
In general, the accommodation at Macdonald Lochanhully Resort has received mixed reviews. While some lodges were praised for being nicely decorated and very comfortable, others were described as tired and in need of updating. Many reviewers mentioned that the lodges were small, basic and in some cases cramped, but others enjoyed the cosy and well-appointed cabins with stunning views and nature right up to their windows. Despite some negative comments about cleanliness and faulty blinds or sofa beds, many guests reported that their cabins were clean, well equipped and had everything necessary for a comfortable stay. The lodges are also praised for being in a beautiful setting with lots of wildlife and some have noted that they are a good size for families or groups. Overall, while some lodges may require some TLC, many guests have enjoyed their stay and appreciated the amenities provided.

Beds
The Macdonald Lochanhully Resort is a lovely property situated in a picturesque location perfect for a relaxing family vacation. Although some guests have mentioned the need for a few updates, the accommodations had everything they needed and the kitchen facilities were great. However, it's worth noting that the majority of the complaints were regarding the beds. Many guests found them to be uncomfortable with some mentioning that the mattresses were old and needed replacement. Some beds were too small and there were reports of urine stains on the sofa bed upon arrival. Despite these issues, some guests found their beds to be comfortable and loved the lovely bedding. So, if you're planning a stay, it may be worth checking the bed situation beforehand. Overall, the Macdonald Lochanhully Resort seems a perfect place to stay in the summertime and guests would love to return to experience it once more.

Cleanliness
Guests of Macdonald Lochanhully Resort have mixed views on its cleanliness. While some praise the property for being spotless and well equipped, others report cobwebs, ripped furniture and even a used condom packet in their chalets. Some guests found hair on the carpets and mattresses, while others noticed mould in the sink or a damp smell upon arrival. However, most guests agree that the staff were quick to remedy any issues with cleanliness and many enjoyed their stay in the comfortable and cosy lodges. Overall, while there are some areas for improvement in terms of cleanliness, the lovely location and well-equipped accommodation make Macdonald Lochanhully Resort a good choice for a short break in the summer.

Staff
The Macdonald Lochanhully Resort is a lovely place to stay with stunning cabins set in a beautiful location. The staff here are exceptional and will go above and beyond to make your stay as comfortable as possible. From the friendly and welcoming receptionists to the hard-working and approachable staff, you'll be greeted with a smile at every turn. The pool, sauna and steam room facilities are fantastic and the location is perfect for families with young children. The clean and comfortable accommodation with friendly staff ensures a great stay and the staff's professionalism and co-operation are appreciated by guests. Pool
Macdonald Lochanhully Resort is a lovely and comfortable place to stay in a beautiful location. Unfortunately, some guests were disappointed with the swimming pool as it was closed for maintenance or out of order during their stay. However, those who were able to use the pool were delighted with it, stating that it was a nice little pool that was warm and well-equipped with floats and toys for children. The pool changing area was described as tiny and crowded though. Some guests were offered the use of a bigger pool at the main MacDonald's resort in Aviemore, which was about a 15-minute drive away. The pool had showers and changing rooms that were said to be poor. Additionally, some guests had issues with the swimming pool being closed early and the check-in/check-out times didn't allow for much use of the facilities. Despite the issues, guests enjoyed the pool when it was available and described it as nice and warm, perfect for kids to enjoy.

Dog Friendly
Macdonald Lochanhully Resort is a dog-friendly facility located in a fantastic location for a trip with your furry friend. The lodges are excellent for dogs with brilliant areas to walk them around and the accommodations are lovely cozy cabins in the woods. However, some guests left feedback indicating that the experience was somewhat spoilt by selfish dog owners who failed to clean up after their pets. It's crucial to note that there are very expensive charges for dogs, which amounts to £15 per dog per day. Unfortunately, some lodges, on occasion, smelled like wet dog or urine, which was off-putting for some guests. Despite the concerns, the resort is still a pet-friendly location and, if you're willing to pay the extra fee, can provide an excellent getaway for you and your furry friend.
