Brisbane Manor is celebrated for its prime location, offering easy access to key areas within Brisbane. Situated close to Fortitude Valley Station, local cafes, Chinatown, vibrant nightlife spots and the Royal Brisbane Hospital, it makes for a convenient base for travelers, especially those attending events at the RNA Showgrounds. Guests appreciate the safe, family-friendly and culturally diverse surroundings. The historical charm of the building, alongside its budget-friendly rates and peaceful ambiance, further enhances its appeal.
The rooms at Brisbane Manor are a mix of old-world charm and basic amenities. While some guests enjoy the comfort and spaciousness along with features like private bathrooms and balconies, others note the need for better maintenance. Issues such as cockroaches, inadequate cleanliness and worn furnishings have been reported. The property is mainly praised for being a budget-friendly, functional choice despite some maintenance shortcomings.
Guest feedback on cleanliness is divided. While a number of visitors commend the hotel for its clean and comfortable rooms, recurring problems such as dirty floors, stained carpets and pest issues, particularly cockroaches, are frequently mentioned. Communal areas also receive criticism for poor upkeep, contributing to an inconsistent cleanliness experience.
The staff at Brisbane Manor generally receive positive remarks for their friendliness, helpfulness and professionalism, contributing significantly to the overall pleasant atmosphere. While occasional negative interactions are noted, the majority of reviews reflect well on the reception staff and other personnel for their accommodating nature and good customer service.
Free wifi at Brisbane Manor is highlighted as a positive with most guests experiencing reliable and satisfactory internet connection. However, some inconsistency does occur with a few guests encountering connectivity issues.
Parking options at the hotel include free onsite and off-street parking, albeit limited and often challenging to secure. The small and steep parking lot can be full or difficult to navigate, especially later in the day. Regardless, the provided parking remains a convenience for many guests.
The hotel's proximity to Brisbane's nightlife hotspots is a notable advantage for those looking to enjoy the city's vibrant entertainment scene. However, thin walls and wooden floors result in a noisy environment with disturbances from neighboring rooms and late-night activities being common complaints.
The beds at Brisbane Manor receive mixed reviews. Positive feedback mentions comfortable and clean beds providing a restful sleep, whereas negative comments focus on old, worn-out mattresses, springs poking through and occasional hygiene issues like stained sheets and bedbugs.
Accessibility is convenient in terms of location and transport links, but the property poses significant challenges for guests with disabilities. The absence of elevators, distant shared bathrooms and limited access for disabled guests after 8pm are notable drawbacks.
Overall, Brisbane Manor is praised for its strategic location, budget-friendly rates, historical charm and helpful staff. However, guests should be aware of potential cleanliness and maintenance issues, noise disturbances, variability in bed comfort and challenges in accessibility.
