Although there were some concerns about the beds not being the most comfortable, the atmosphere of the hotel was superb and exceeded expectations for a four-star property. The lovely staff were always on hand to provide assistance and the food was of a good quality. The hotel itself had a very pretty and well-kept appearance, although some guests did comment that it was a bit grubby in places. Overall, some guests expected more given the hotel's rating with some feeling that there were fewer facilities and comforts than they had paid for. However, despite these minor criticisms, The Ballyliffin Lodge and Spa was an enjoyable and memorable place to stay.
