Location

Langdale Hotel & Spa is situated in a fantastic location, surrounded by beautiful and picturesque woodland and forested areas. Guests have easy access to local walks and places of interest, including pubs and the quaint town of Ambleside. Despite some noise disturbances in the annexe due to its proximity to the delivery area, guests expressed that the Langdale Estate itself is simply stunning and set in a lovely, peaceful area. While the hotel may be a little far out from town for some, it's always a good place to stay to explore the Lake District with amazing opportunities for walks in the stunning surroundings. The local pub, Wainwrights, is highly recommended by guests for its great food and drinks. Additionally, the hotel grounds are beautiful, though some may find the outbuilding and steps with no lighting a bit inconvenient. Despite wind and rain, Langdale Hotel & Spa in its beautiful setting and location is great for a quiet and relaxing stay in the heart of the Lake District.

Guests have access to the full range of pool and spa facilities, including a hot tub and steam room, but due to COVID restrictions, there may be some limitations to their enjoyment. Guests can book swimming pool slots, but some found the pool to be too busy with screaming kids. The pool and other leisure facilities are only open from 10am to 6pm daily. Changing rooms for the pool were closed and some guests left the pool after just a few minutes due to the number of people in the pool. In addition, some felt that the removal of furniture around the pool and an empty jacuzzi created a sterile atmosphere. Despite these shortcomings, many guests enjoyed using the pool and found the swimming facilities to be excellent.
