Summary of reviews
Summarized by AI
Comfort Hotel Bernau, nestled on the outskirts of Berlin, provides a tranquil and accessible retreat praised for its serene environment and strategic proximity to key connections like the S-Bahn and A11 highway. This setting makes it an ideal choice for those visiting Berlin or exploring the scenic Barnimer Land with easy access to supermarkets, restaurants, shopping facilities and the historic city wall of Bernau. Travelers benefit from free and abundant parking, further enhancing its appeal for those journeying by car.
The hotel earns high marks for its breakfast, a lavish spread praised for its quality, variety and generous serving times. The freshly prepared buffet, catering to both early risers and late starters, ensures an enjoyable start to the day with options ranging from traditional eggs and sausages to mini meatballs and holiday treats like salmon. While some guests desired more fruit and sausage varieties, these minor points did not detract from the overwhelmingly positive feedback.
Guests find alternatives for lunch and dinner nearby, including an Asian restaurant across the street and a recommended Greek eatery, ATHOS, a short walk away. Although the lack of an in-house restaurant might be a drawback, the local dining options ensure that good meals are within reach.
The hotel rooms are spacious and clean, often featuring balconies that enhance their bright and airy feel. Many rooms include practical amenities like mini-bars and refrigerators, contributing to a comfortable stay. However, some decor and furnishings show signs of wear and certain fixtures need updating. Despite these concerns, the daily housekeeping ensures a generally clean and functional experience.
Comfort Hotel Bernau shines with its commendable staff, who are frequently described as friendly, helpful and attentive. Guests appreciate the welcoming atmosphere created by both the reception and dining staff with many noting the staff’s efficiency and willingness to accommodate special requests.
Pets are well-accommodated, making the hotel a popular choice for travelers with dogs. The calm surroundings and dog-friendly policies, including affordable fees and designated areas for pets, contribute to a pleasant stay for both owners and their pets.
WiFi connectivity presents a mixed experience with some guests enjoying reliable service, while others face issues with weak signals and disconnections, particularly on the upper floors.
Beds at the hotel receive mostly positive feedback for their comfort, despite some variability in mattress quality. Overall, the beds are considered a highlight, often contributing to a good night's sleep.
While Comfort Hotel Bernau meets the standard expectations for a three-star establishment, it offers good value for money, making it an attractive option for budget-conscious travelers. The scenic and accessible location, combined with a hearty breakfast and welcoming staff, ensures a fulfilling stay for various types of travelers, including those with pets.
