Summary of reviews
Summarized by AI
Alago Hotel am See is celebrated for its exceptional location, offering guests a tranquil and scenic retreat by Lake Cambser. With beautifully designed outdoor areas, including a lovely garden, breakfast terrace and a variety of relaxation spots, it provides an ideal setting for peaceful getaways. The proximity to a swimming area and convenient access to nearby attractions and cities such as Schwerin and Wismar enhance its appeal.
Guests rave about the breakfast buffet, noting its extensive, well-stocked and high-quality variety, enjoyed with direct views of the lake from the terrace. Despite some suggesting the need for more variety, the breakfast is highlighted as a delightful aspect of the stay.
Themed dinner buffets, including Italian, Greek and Nordic nights, have received mixed feedback. While many find the food plentiful, tasty and locally sourced, others feel there is room for improvement, particularly regarding pricing, freshness and options for vegetarians and allergy sufferers.
The guest rooms are spacious, clean and offer beautiful lake views, though some guests note the need for renovations and better amenities such as air conditioning and darkening curtains. Cleanliness in the hotel is generally praised with well-maintained grounds and a few minor lapses.
The staff are a standout feature, described as friendly, attentive and accommodating, contributing to a welcoming and family-friendly atmosphere. However, the Wi-Fi connection is frequently critiqued for being weak and unreliable.
Overall, Alago Hotel am See is a charming, serene retreat with excellent outdoor facilities, delightful breakfast offerings, comfortable beds and a dedicated staff, making it a memorable choice for travelers seeking a peaceful lakeside stay.
