Visitors to 'ibis Chesterfield North - Barlborough' have highlighted that the hotel offers a mix of positives and areas needing improvement when it comes to accessibility for disabled guests. On the plus side, guests appreciated the ease of check-in and checkout, the convenient location near the M1 and the friendly, helpful staff. Many found the accessible rooms to be well-equipped, spacious and featuring excellent facilities such as accessible showers. The wide corridors and good ground-floor areas for wheelchairs also added to the overall positive experience for some guests.
However, several challenges were noted. Disabled access isn't consistently well-signposted, both outside and within the hotel. Guests mentioned difficulties with inadequate disabled parking and noted that the lift was often either slow or out of order, making it hard to access higher floors without companion assistance. Additionally, some ground-floor rooms lacked proper disability access and signage for disabled facilities could use substantial improvements.
In summary, while the hotel provides a generally accessible environment with helpful staff and good facilities for disabled travelers, better signage, consistent lift service and more convenient disabled parking would significantly enhance the overall experience.
