Summary of reviews
Summarized by AI
Days Inn by Wyndham Staunton stands out for its exceptionally convenient location, praised for being near interstates 64 and 81, which offers easy access for travelers. Despite its proximity to major highways, guests appreciate the quiet and private setting, alongside ample parking. The hotel’s closeness to restaurants and fuel options and its pet-friendly policy, add to its appeal. The staff receive high marks across numerous reviews for their friendly and helpful demeanor, contributing significantly to guests’ positive experiences.
Breakfast at the hotel offers a selection of hot and cold items with particular praise for the sausage gravy and biscuits. The breakfast room is noted for its spaciousness, though there is room for improvement with calls for greater variety and healthier options. Despite these suggestions, the breakfast is generally seen as sufficient for the room rate.
Guestroom experiences are mixed, but lean positive. Many find the rooms comfortable, clean and modern with commendable amenities like comfortable beds, ample space and working appliances. However, some guests note that certain rooms need updates and better cleanliness, mentioning issues such as lingering smoke smells despite non-smoking policies, dirty carpets and occasional presence of flies. Despite these concerns, the affordable pricing makes it attractive for budget-conscious travelers.
Cleanliness is a point of both praise and critique. Many guests find the rooms clean and comfortable, benefiting from recent renovations. However, there are instances of significant cleanliness lapses, including dirty carpets, unpleasant odors and poorly maintained bathrooms.
The hotel's accessibility features are generally well-received with practical amenities like ground-floor parking directly in front of rooms. Still, the lack of an elevator to the second floor and inconsistent fulfillment of handicap-accessible requests are noted drawbacks.
Overall, Days Inn by Wyndham Staunton offers good value for money with its strategic location, welcoming pet policy, comfortable beds and commendable staff. While there are areas for improvement, especially concerning cleanliness and breakfast variety, it remains a practical choice for travelers seeking convenience and affordability.
