Situated in a secluded area above Acacia Bay, it offers tranquil lake and mountain views. Guests enjoy gourmet breakfasts, an option for evening meals featuring local produce and New Zealand wines, a sauna, and a home entertainment system. Luxurious suites are equipped with sophisticated audio and mood lighting systems, and some include spa baths.
Lodge Taking Steps Towards Sustainability
Chalet Eiger has been awarded the Qualmark Silver level for its efforts in supporting sustainable tourism. It implements comprehensive recycling systems for glass, cardboard, tins, aluminum, paper, and plastic, and composts kitchen and garden waste. The property uses only eco-friendly cleaning products and a steam cleaner for hard floors without chemicals. It features an on-site contained wastewater treatment plant, and employs energy-saving measures such as outside lighting on movement sensors or timers, heat pumps with thermostats, double glazing, harvested tank water from the roof, and 150mm insulation in the roof. Guests are given the option to reuse towels, and meals are prepared with locally sourced New Zealand produce, including home-grown vegetables.
