Hotel Prinzenpalais Bad Doberan, centrally located at Alexandrinenplatz, is praised for its prime position, allowing easy access to key attractions such as the historic town, cafes, restaurants and the nearby Molli steam train stop. The convenience of walkable access to local amenities and secure parking adds to its appeal. The charming architecture and comfort enhance the overall ambiance, making it perfect for both short and extended stays.
The breakfast service at the hotel stands out as a key highlight, frequently described as perfect, very good and varied with a plentiful buffet selection. Guests enjoy fresh fruit, yogurt and well-prepared egg dishes in the picturesque Orangerie, accompanied by attentive staff service. Even though some find the 20€ cost a bit steep, the overall sentiment remains overwhelmingly positive.
Despite the restaurant and bar being unavailable in the evenings, the tastefully decorated dining room and the multitude of nearby dining options ensure guests can explore local cuisine. The rooms are spacious, clean and well-furnished, combining antique furniture with modern bathrooms. While some rooms under the attic may be smaller and certain amenities occasionally non-functional, the elegant and cozy ambiance is consistently appreciated.
Cleanliness is another strong point with both rooms and common areas maintained to a high standard, contributing to the hotel's fresh and comfortable environment. Guests commend the daily cleaning service and the impeccable service provided by the friendly, helpful and competent staff.
Free WiFi is generally satisfactory, although it may be weaker in some areas like the breakfast room. The hotel is highly recommended for families, offering a welcoming and child-friendly environment with activities like train rides being a highlight. However, there is some room for improvement in bedding, as comfort levels vary with mentions of hard mattresses and thin pillows.
For pet owners, the hotel offers a welcoming environment for dogs, despite a higher nightly charge of 20 euros. Though pets have restricted access to certain areas, the overall atmosphere is accommodating, making it a viable option for those traveling with pets.
