The Celtic International Hotel Cardiff Airport boasts a prime location that is consistently praised for being incredibly convenient, especially for travelers needing quick access to Cardiff Airport. Its proximity to Barry Island, the town center and public transport links to Cardiff City Centre further enhance its appeal. The hotel's tranquil neighborhood, ample parking facilities and overall value for money make it a practical choice for travelers prioritizing convenience and affordability.
Guests have high praise for the breakfast experience, highlighting its variety, quality and value for money with freshly cooked options and a notable full Welsh breakfast. The breakfast bag option for early departures is especially valued. Overall, the breakfast service is considered a highlight of guests' stays.
Dinner at the hotel is equally commendable with a diverse menu featuring well-prepared and delicious dishes accompanied by a great selection of drinks. While some occasional issues with the temperature of the food were noted, the overall dining experience is positive, supported by a pleasant atmosphere and excellent food quality.
The rooms are often described as clean, comfortable and spacious with family rooms particularly noted for their size. While some guests mentioned that the decor is dated and encountered minor maintenance issues, the rooms are deemed functional with decent amenities like hot showers and comfortable beds. The hotel's cleanliness, both in rooms and common areas, is frequently appreciated by guests.
The hotel's staff is highlighted for their warmth, friendliness and professionalism, making guests feel well-cared for and enhancing the overall experience. Special mentions of staff members indicate a personalized touch in service.
The free WiFi is generally reliable and appreciated by guests, though there are some reports of weak signals in certain areas. The ample and free on-site parking is another well-received feature, adding convenience for those traveling by car.
For families, the hotel's spacious rooms, family-friendly amenities like cots and a games room and the helpful staff make it a great choice for overnight stays or vacations. The beds receive mixed reviews; while many find them comfortable, others note issues with mattress quality. Despite this, the bedding is generally clean and conducive to a good night's rest.
As a three-star accommodation, the hotel offers good value for money with decent standards and newly renovated premises. Although it may not provide luxury, it delivers satisfactory lodging that aligns well with its rating, making it a reliable and economical option for travelers.
