Initially a control tower, then expanded into a castle-family residence

A part of the castle was built in 1500 with a Renaissance style. The castle was then completed in 1700 in the Baroque style.

It is located in a small village with medieval origins
Has restoration work taken place?
It underwent changes in the early 1900s and was structurally renovated 20 years ago with the adjustment of the service areas, but keeping the structure unchanged.

The chapel has painted ceilings in the late 1700s.
Are there any important guests or previous owners worth mentioning?
From 1500 to the end of 1700 it was owned by the Grimaldi, one of the most important families of Genoa.

The village of Rocca Grimalda and its castle have for centuries been the subject of disputes between the Republic of Genoa and the northern countries that were trying to reach an outlet to the sea
