The Mercure Swansea Hotel presents itself with a four-star rating, yet it often does not meet the expectations associated with this classification. While there are mentions of good provisions and some well-upgraded facilities, many guests feel that the hotel falls short, appearing more akin to a two or three-star establishment. Dated facilities, absence of air conditioning, lack of complimentary amenities such as water or a fridge in the rooms and other missing elements contribute to this perception.
The hotel maintains a fairly modern look but appears tired and in need of updates. Guests have expressed disappointment with the value for money, citing that it feels more like a budget hotel rather than living up to its four-star label. Issues with services such as breakfast being short-staffed have also been noted.
Overall, while the Mercure Swansea Hotel offers basic accommodations, many guests feel it does not align with the premium expectations of a four-star hotel, suggesting that it requires significant improvements in both services and facilities to justifiably claim its current rating.

Delta Hotels by Marriott Swansea is a fantastic hotel that is just right for a weekend break in Swansea. Although some guests found the prices a bit overpriced, the hotel is well positioned and has excellent customer service. The location is great and the family rooms are of good size. However, some guests reported a poor night's sleep due to tired decoration and old rooms that were not worth the price. While the hotel was memorable for some guests for the wrong reasons, others found the hotel exceptional and an all-around top hotel. Although some found it to be not quite up to 4-star Premier Inn standard, the accommodation was very good with a 5-star rating. The facilities were varied and while some found them challenging for the wrong reasons, others found them excellent. If you're looking for a luxurious stay, the Delta Hotels by Marriott Swansea may not be quite the right fit. However, for a weekend break in Swansea, it might be just what you are looking for.
