Wave Resort - Ultra All Inclusive is celebrated for its prime seafront location that grants guests spectacular sea views and a tranquil atmosphere. The private beach and multiple luxurious pools cater to relaxation, even if the immediate surroundings are somewhat desolate. Though somewhat isolated and distant from bustling city centers, the resort's close proximity to Pomorie and seamless integration of facilities compensates for limited nearby attractions. The resort's breakfast offerings receive high praise for their variety and quality with visitors particularly enjoying the generous spread that caters to diverse tastes. Early morning service is recommended for the freshest experience, despite occasional critiques regarding queues and limited certain items. Dinner also receives commendations for its diverse and delicious options, extensive live cooking stations and delightful evening entertainment. However, some issues with food repetition organization and service levels were noted. The hotel's rooms are well-regarded for their spaciousness, modern design, cleanliness and stunning sea views with daily meticulous housekeeping being a highlight. Occasional minor issues, such as noise and initial cleanliness lapses, do not overshadow the generally positive experiences guests have with their accommodations. Cleanliness throughout the resort is frequently commended, from rooms to common areas and pools. Maintenance efforts are consistently praised, though some guests noted sporadic issues such as odors from sinks and occasional missed spots in the dining areas. Staff at the resort are lauded for their friendliness and helpfulness, particularly in the restaurant and bar areas. However, varying experiences with the reception staff suggest room for improvement in consistency and professionalism. The cleaning staff are generally appreciated for their diligence, contributing significantly to an enjoyable stay. One notable downside is the unreliable internet service with guests reporting weak and unstable Wi-Fi connections, particularly in outdoor areas like the pool and beach. The resort's spa center is highly regarded for its top-notch service, excellent facilities and high-quality treatments, though it can be pricey and overcrowded during peak times. The gym is well-equipped and maintained, offering a satisfactory workout environment for guests. The extensive pool facilities cater to both children and adults with a variety of heated and clean pools. Despite occasional overcrowding and cold temperatures in the off-season, the pool area is appreciated for its ample space, landscaped design and cleanliness. The beach experience is mixed with guests praising its maintenance and private access but noting challenges such as its narrowness, steepness and occasional cleanliness issues. Despite this, the beach's proximity to other resort facilities adds convenience. In summary, Wave Resort - Ultra All Inclusive provides a serene and well-equipped retreat with standout service, dining and recreational facilities, making it a strong choice for guests seeking relaxation and comprehensive amenities. While minor service inconsistencies and location limitations exist, the overall positive experiences significantly enhance its appeal.

Review Summaries

Location

Wave Resort - Ultra All Inclusive boasts a remarkable location right on the seashore, offering guests stunning sea views from their rooms and apartments. The resort is strategically placed close to a quiet beach, making it an ideal spot for relaxation. Despite being situated between Alehoy and Pomorie, it provides a tranquil escape from bustling tourist hotspots and busy cities, ensuring a peaceful stay. The resort's close proximity to the airport is convenient for travelers and while the immediate surroundings are rather desolate, the breathtaking landscape more than compensates. Although the hotel is somewhat isolated and distant from city centers, Pomorie, known for its healing black mud, is just 20 kilometers away and easily accessible via a free transfer service. While the location might pose challenges for those without a car due to limited access to nearby cities, the resort compensates with extensive amenities, including a private beach, luxurious pools and a well-designed layout that integrates all facilities seamlessly. The nearby DiVes Estate winery and the old town of Nessebar add cultural and recreational value to the stay. There are critiques about the less scenic road leading to the hotel and limited walking areas around the property, but guests consistently praise the magnificent sea views and the quiet, secluded atmosphere. The resort is perfect for those looking for a serene getaway with comprehensive resort facilities, though it might not suit those seeking vibrant city life or extensive local exploration.

Breakfast

Guests at Wave Resort - Ultra All Inclusive frequently praise the breakfast, highlighting its great variety and delicious offerings. Many enjoy the excellent and generous spread, featuring varied and tasty options to cater to different preferences. Despite occasional criticisms about the lack of certain items like mushrooms, yogurt and mini Danish pastries or the absence of sparkling wine, the overall sentiment remains positive. Visitors appreciated the effort put into breakfast, recommending an early visit between 6 and 7 a.m. for the freshest experience. The a la carte restaurant receives special mentions for its very tasty breakfast. Some critiques noted long queues and a lack of daily variation, but the majority still commended the quality and diverse selection available. In terms of safety, there were mixed responses; some guests felt the Covid measures in the buffet area were sufficient while others did not. Overall, Wave Resort's breakfast stands out as a strong aspect of the guest experience, aligning well with the resort's star rating and pricing.

Dinner

Wave Resort - Ultra All Inclusive seems to offer a wide array of dining options that have garnered some positive feedback from guests. Many visitors have noted that the food is excellent with a diverse selection ranging from fish, mussels, squid and various meats to vegetarian options and a plethora of salads and desserts. The food diversity has been appreciated with guests highlighting the variety and abundance available at all meals, including a-la carte dining which received commendation for its taste and service. Dinner, in particular, stood out as fabulous with buffets offering a satisfying and very tasty array. The restaurant's design also drew compliments. Many guests enjoyed the evening entertainment, which includes a delightful show of singing fountains and beautiful music in the lobby bar. Attention was drawn to the specialized areas for kids and families and the extensive choice of dishes that vary each day, including many live cooking stations that present fresh and appealing options. However, there were mixed reviews about the repetition of dishes and the dining hall's organization. While the culinary experiences at specialty restaurants were often described as amazing, the quality of service and some operational details resembled that of a 3-star establishment rather than the promised 5-star. Some guests mentioned that the dining experience was chaotic at times with issues like long queues, slow refills and messy dining areas. Despite a few critiques, the overall impression of the hotel's dining experiences leaned positively due to the variety, taste and effort put forth for meals, particularly dinner. Nonetheless, there's room for improvement, particularly in service consistency and detail orientation.

Rooms

Wave Resort - Ultra All Inclusive offers guests a delightful stay with its spacious and well-designed rooms. Visitors frequently highlight the size and cleanliness of the rooms, praising them for being large, spotless and comfortable. Many rooms come with stunning sea views, adding to the appeal. Modern and stylish furnishings, combined with thoughtful amenities such as Nespresso coffee machines and comfortable beds, enhance the overall experience. Guests appreciate the daily housekeeping service, noting that the rooms are meticulously cleaned every day. Rooms are described as cozy, modern and beautifully decorated with some guests mentioning particular enjoyment of the double vanity in the bathrooms and the open concept for bathroom doors. While there are occasional mentions of minor issues, such as noise for light sleepers and some deficiencies upon arrival, the overall sentiment is overwhelmingly positive. With a combination of spacious interiors, impressive design and attentive service, the hotel ensures a comfortable and memorable stay for its visitors.

Beds

Wave Resort - Ultra All Inclusive has received a spectrum of feedback regarding its bed comfort, predominantly leaning towards the positive side. Guests often highlight the comfort of the beds and pillows, describing them as very comfy and super comfortable. Particularly in the adult zone, the beds are noted for their comfort. Rooms are often equipped with various types of beds and pillow options, which seems to cater to different preferences. Cleanliness is a recurring plus with rooms being tidy and linens changed regularly. However, there were some mentions of beds and mattresses not meeting the expectations of a five-star resort with a few guests pointing out that the mattresses felt cheap or were too soft, causing discomfort for those with back issues. Additionally, certain beds tended to squeak or slant inward. Some rooms were described as having either too small or uncomfortable beds and there was a noted instance of a lack of windows in a family room. Despite these mixed reviews, the overall sentiment leans towards comfort and cleanliness, contributing to a generally positive stay at the resort.

Cleanliness

Wave Resort - Ultra All Inclusive receives mixed reviews regarding its cleanliness with a predominant emphasis on positive experiences. The general consensus highlights a high standard of cleanliness across the hotel. Many guests repeatedly note that everything from rooms to common areas and pools is spotlessly clean and well-maintained. The hotel maintains clean, spacious rooms with daily cleaning mentioned numerous times, ensuring consistently sanitized environments. Guests appreciate the attention given to keeping the entire resort tidy and beautiful and the maintenance crew's efforts are frequently praised. The pools, including heated options and other facilities are particularly noted for their cleanliness and good upkeep, providing a pleasant experience throughout the stay. However, there are occasional mentions of specific issues. Some guests experienced lapses in initial room cleanliness and a few noted areas in need of improvement, such as the odor from sink drains and carpet stains. There were also isolated complaints about missed spots in the dining hall and sporadic upkeep issues in the rooms, such as uncleaned towels and glasses left behind by staff. Despite these few concerns, the overall impression is that of a clean and well-managed resort, where cleanliness is taken seriously and the staff works hard to maintain high hygiene standards. The positive remarks far outweigh the negatives, making Wave Resort a promising destination for those prioritizing cleanliness during their vacation.

Staff

At 'Wave Resort - Ultra All Inclusive', the feedback regarding the hotel staff predominantly emphasizes their friendliness and helpfulness. Guests repeatedly highlight the polite, smiling and accommodating nature of the team across various levels of service, particularly singling out the restaurant and bar staff for their excellent service. Many visitors were impressed by how the staff could consistently engage and make everyone feel welcomed, from the cleaning crew to the animation team known as Team Purple, who brought enthusiasm and energy to the activities. However, opinions were mixed regarding the reception staff. While some found the reception helpful and pleasant, others noted a lack of cooperation and a few encounters with rudeness. The cleaning staff generally received high marks for diligence, although there were occasional issues with room cleanliness. The gym was noted to be well-equipped and the fitness instructor received praise for their kindness. Overall, the majority of the experiences with the hotel staff were positive, contributing significantly to guests' enjoyable stays, even if there were a few areas identified for improvement, particularly in certain interactions at the reception.

Wi-Fi

Despite its numerous amenities and stunning location, 'Wave Resort - Ultra All Inclusive' struggles to provide reliable internet services. Guests have reported weak and often unstable Wi-Fi with frequent outages and interruptions. The internet connection is particularly poor around the pool and beach areas and some have also encountered issues even within their rooms. Travelers should be prepared for limited connectivity during their stay.

Spa

Wave Resort's spa center has garnered numerous positive remarks from guests, highlighting its top-notch service and excellent facilities. Described as wonderful, beautiful and up to standards, the spa area features superbly equipped amenities, including three saunas, a large indoor pool and a cozy relaxation room. Many guests appreciated the high quality of spa treatments and praised the attentive staff, particularly noting exceptional massage services from individuals such as Valentin. However, some reviews mention a few areas for improvement. While the spa services are generally well-regarded, there were occasional comments about the roughness of certain massages and the lack of diversity in services offered. The spa is also noted to be somewhat pricey, particularly during peak seasons with some guests feeling that the cost did not always match the service quality. Overcrowding was another concern with the spa facilities sometimes falling short of accommodating the hotel's capacity. Despite these drawbacks, the overall sentiment leans positively, emphasizing a well-maintained and enjoyable spa experience for those willing to invest in the treatments.

Gym

The gym at Wave Resort - Ultra All Inclusive receives high praise for its modern and pleasant environment. Many guests highlight the well-equipped and air-conditioned fitness center, describing it as a great place to work out. The workout zone is noted for being well stocked with equipment, though a few suggestions for increasing the variety were mentioned. The gym's late evening hours provide flexibility for guests and overall, it is considered a top-notch facility within the wellness and sports area, contributing positively to the guest experience.

Pool

Wave Resort - Ultra All Inclusive boasts a generous variety of pools catering to both adults and children, offering plenty of options for guests to choose from. The large pool area is well-designed and includes separate zones for kids, adults and a 16+ area to ensure everyone's needs are met. Guests appreciate the clean and well-maintained pools with regular cleaning contributing to their pristine condition. There is an array of heated pools, including one heated indoor pool and a 25-meter option, providing some warmth despite many guests finding the outdoor pools too cold, especially during the off-season and in cooler weather. The abundance of sunbeds around the pool area allows for a comfortable and relaxed experience, although pools can get crowded at times. There are also fantastic water slides and a larger aqua park that add to the fun and excitement for both kids and adults. Despite the vast pool selection, some issues such as pools being unavailable off-season, cold water temperatures and strong winds may affect the suitability of both the beach and the pool areas occasionally. However, the overall atmosphere around the pools remains peaceful, comfortable and enjoyable thanks to the ample space and tidy surroundings. In summary, Wave Resort's extensive pool offerings, well-segregated areas and regular upkeep make it an appealing choice for travelers seeking both relaxation and entertainment by the pool.

Beach

Wave Resort's beach experience presents a mixed picture for visitors. The beach itself is considered well-maintained and clean, providing a satisfactory spot for relaxation with smooth, black sand. Guests appreciate the private access and relative shallowness of the seawater, which offers a good swimming experience. The resort ensures plenty of space and provides amenities like sunbeds and umbrellas, contributing to a comfortable day by the sea. Additionally, the beach's proximity to the pool area and the old town of Nessebar is a noted convenience. However, challenges exist. The beach is often described as narrow and steep, making it difficult to walk on without flip-flops or sandals due to the shells and gravel. The man-made quality of the sand detracts from its natural appeal and in some cases, the sea and beach area have been reported as dirty or unpleasant with algae, rocks and even broken glass. While the location and accessibility of the beach score positively, guests have expressed a desire for improvements to enhance their overall beach experience at Wave Resort.

Parking

Wave Resort - Ultra All Inclusive offers a range of parking options for guests, including a substantial number of spaces near the hotel. Many appreciate the convenience of free onsite parking and the large car park that is easily accessible, allowing for a short walk to the beach. The free and protected parking spaces on the side of the hotel are particularly noted for their accessibility. However, the hotel’s parking situation has some room for improvement. Reviews indicate issues with insufficient parking spaces for the size of the resort, causing some guests to struggle with finding a spot. The organization of the parking lot has been described as not well-managed and quite tight, making it difficult to park comfortably. Moreover, paid parking has been a point of contention for guests with several reviews mentioning the additional charges as frustrating and not well communicated at the time of booking. This, combined with the lack of valet service or assistance with luggage, has left some guests feeling that the parking experience could be enhanced. Overall, while the hotel does offer ample and convenient parking in many respects, there are significant concerns about the adequacy and organization of the parking facilities that could benefit from more attention.

Family

Wave Resort - Ultra All Inclusive is the perfect destination for families seeking a vacation filled with entertainment and activities for children. The hotel excels in providing a pleasant experience for families with its top-notch animators and a variety of kids' entertainment options. The animation and show programs are highly praised for keeping children engaged and happy. There is a well-organized kids club where little ones can participate in a range of activities, from games of polo and darts to entertaining shows. The resort boasts a superb cleanliness standard and offers many kids facilities, including different pools specifically designed for children. The aqua park and children's play areas are particularly popular, ensuring that young guests have plenty of fun throughout their stay. The numerous pools, some of which are considered the most suitable for children, cater to guests of all ages, making it an ideal location for family vacations. Friendly staff and entertainers play a significant role in creating a welcoming atmosphere for families. The variety of food available includes options suitable for children, ensuring that even the pickiest eaters find something to enjoy. Discounts for families and an overall kid-friendly approach make Wave Resort a top choice for those traveling with children. Despite the overwhelmingly positive feedback, there are a few points to consider. The water in some pools has been noted as being very cold and the quality of hotel entertainment can vary. Additionally, it may not be recommended for children under 13 due to certain amenities and facilities. However, the overall experience at Wave Resort - Ultra All Inclusive is highly rated for its family-centric amenities and activities, making it a great place for a memorable family vacation.

5 Star

Wave Resort - Ultra All Inclusive receives mixed feedback regarding its five-star rating and associated facilities and services. On the positive side, many guests appreciate the luxurious ambiance, stating that it lives up to five-star standards in several aspects. The overall quality is praised with some describing it as truly amazing and matching European five-star levels, particularly highlighting the high-quality amenities provided throughout the resort. However, several reviews point to significant downsides. One aspect that consistently falls short is the food quality, which many guests find unacceptable for a five-star hotel. The service also receives criticism with reports of unfriendly staff and a lack of the expected high-level hospitality. Additionally, there are complaints about the poor quality-to-price ratio, suggesting that the offerings, especially the variety of drinks, do not justify the cost. Parking facilities and temperature regulation in the water are other areas of concern. Some guests highlight the inconvenience of parking outside the hotel premises and issues with water temperature. Despite these drawbacks, there are moments of excellent service, but these seem to be exceptions rather than the rule. In summary, while Wave Resort offers several luxurious elements that align with a five-star experience, there are notable areas where it falls short, impacting its overall value and the guest experience.

All-Inclusive Packages

Wave Resort offers a noteworthy ultra all-inclusive experience that stands out for its extensive range of international beverages, including well-known brands like Jack Daniels. Guests appreciate the variety of good-quality alcohol and the convenience of complimentary services such as free parking, sunbeds and umbrellas. The resort also provides a complimentary mini-bar, adding extra value to their stay. The food at Wave Resort receives high praise for being tasty, plentiful and well-prepared with a diverse selection of meals available around the clock. This ensures that guests always have access to dining options, regardless of the time. The Oliva Mediterranean restaurant within the resort comes recommended by guests for its exceptional food. However, some reviews note that while the all-inclusive package is generally very good, it falls short of a true ultra all-inclusive offering. Specific criticisms include the limited selection of imported drinks and the quality of fountain juices, which some found tasteless. Moreover, the variety and quality of the food can decline when there are fewer guests at the resort. Overall, the resort’s all-inclusive services are highly regarded, particularly for long-term stays where guests can benefit from additional bonuses. Despite some inconsistencies, the overall availability and quality of the amenities contribute to a satisfying ultra all-inclusive experience.

Children's Pool

Wave Resort - Ultra All Inclusive offers a variety of children's pool areas, including pools with warm water and heated options, ensuring comfort for younger guests. The resort features engaging activities such as water slides and even games of polo or darts, which keep kids entertained. Additionally, there are colorful dancing fountains and a playground available. While the children's facilities are extensive, some areas, like the indoor pool, can get crowded at times and there is feedback about one kids' pool having cold water. Nonetheless, the overall offerings cater well to children of all ages and preferences.

Heated Pool

Wave Resort - Ultra All Inclusive offers a perfect retreat with its variety of heated pools, ensuring comfort and relaxation for guests. The resort features several heated options, including semi-private heated pools and a spacious 25-meter pool. Both indoor and outdoor pools at the resort maintain a pleasant temperature of around 30 degrees, making swimming enjoyable regardless of the weather. Whether seeking the warmth of an indoor pool or the allure of an outdoor setting, guests can indulge in consistently warm water, adding to the resort's appeal.

Outdoor Pool

Wave Resort's outdoor pool area stands out as a highlight for guests. The resort features several well-maintained pools with warm water ensuring a pleasant experience even on cooler days. There is a dedicated 16+ outdoor pool for adults seeking a more serene environment. Furthermore, the water slides add a fun element, particularly appealing to families. While some guests noted the outdoor bars were closed during their stay, the heated pools garnered positive attention, making the pool facilities highly appreciated overall.

Indoor Pool

Wave Resort's indoor pool stands out for its ample size, providing plenty of space for guests to enjoy a swim without feeling crowded, even during peak times. It's an excellent option for those looking to swim regardless of poor weather conditions. However, some guests noted that the water temperature could be improved, as several reviews mentioned the indoor pool being notably cold. While the cooler water may be refreshing for brief dips, it appears to be a point of consideration for those planning longer swims. Overall, the indoor pool serves as a spacious and convenient retreat from less favorable outdoor weather, though a warmer temperature would enhance the experience.

Luxury

Wave Resort - Ultra All Inclusive offers guests a truly luxurious experience, characterized by high-class and boutique-style rooms. The hotel stands out for its clean, expansive and beautifully designed rooms that exude luxury quality. Lavish accommodations and modern complex facilities contribute to the feeling of staying in one of the best hotels in Bulgaria. The superbly polite staff and excellent quality dishes further enhance the overall luxurious environment. The unwavering high standards make this new hotel deserving of a five-star rating, ensuring a consistent luxury experience for all guests.

The resort offers an entertainment program for adults, including live music from a musician every evening, which complements the romantic dinner music to create an unforgettable atmosphere with dinner. Newlyweds will find the staff's attentiveness noteworthy, as advance requests for special surprises are graciously accommodated, contributing to a memorable honeymoon experience. The resort's spa services add an extra layer of romance and relaxation, allowing couples to unwind together. Guests consistently praise the superbly polite staff and the great food, which rounds out the romantic and comfortable experience at Wave Resort. Despite occasional lapses in housekeeping, such as not replacing shower gel and shampoo for four days, the overall experience remains richly romantic and rejuvenating.
