Britannia Hotel offers a largely positive experience for its guests, particularly praised for its location, cleanliness and staff service. Positioned conveniently between Durban and Pinetown, the hotel provides easy access to major highways, the beach, shops and significant landmarks like the Moses Mabhida Stadium. Although some guests find its proximity to a busy highway noisy and its distance from town less ideal, many appreciate the peaceful setting, secured parking and beautiful views.
The hotel's breakfast receives commendations for its delicious and satisfying menu. Guests enjoy the complimentary options, including early bird specials and breakfast in bed, despite occasional criticisms regarding small portion sizes, limited menu options and longer wait times.
When it comes to rooms, cleanliness stands out as a significant highlight. Guests frequently describe the rooms as spotless, newly renovated and comfortable with their appearances matching promotional images. The spaciousness and neatness contribute to a pleasant stay, though some guests did note the absence of certain amenities like fridges and kettles.
Staff service is another area where Britannia Hotel excels. Both the receptionists and cleaning staff are frequently praised for their friendliness, politeness and efficient service. While there were occasional comments about professionalism and attentiveness in the dining area, the overall impression is positive.
The secure parking also garners appreciation for its safety and cleanliness, although some guests suggest reserved spots for hotel guests and covered options.
Lastly, guest feedback on the beds is mixed with many finding them comfortable and others suggesting improvements for better consistency in guest satisfaction.
In summary, Britannia Hotel is a well-regarded establishment known for its strategic location, exemplary cleanliness and friendly staff, providing a generally comfortable and convenient experience for its guests.
