Rooms
Lofoten Cottages by Nusfjord offers a blend of charming traditional architecture and modern comforts, situated in one of the oldest and best-preserved fishing villages in Norway. The cottages, often referred to as "rorbuer," are noted for their clean, cozy and well-equipped interiors. Many guests compliment the beautiful and charming design of the cabins with several highlighting their authenticity and how they stay true to their origins. The spaciousness and functionality of the accommodations, especially the well-equipped kitchens and comfortable beds, were praised by many.

The traditional fisherman's cottages open out to breathtaking views of the fjord, adding to the overall appeal with cozy terraces and the opportunity to watch the tide come in. The location is stunning, offering quaint, historic settings that are peacefully quiet and picturesque, perfect for a tranquil getaway.

However, there seems to be inconsistency regarding amenities, as some cottages lacked basic facilities like water and cooking equipment, which affected the overall experience for some guests. Issues of comfort were pointed out, such as small beds and the difficulty of maneuvering around the sleeping loft areas. The authenticity of the experience comes with the downside of some facilities being less convenient, like private bathrooms located outside of the cottages or historical cabins with outdated interiors.

Overall, while the accommodation can be variable, the standout features remain the scenic location, traditional charm and the cozy, welcoming ambiance of the cabins. Guests looking for a true taste of Norwegian heritage with modern comforts will find Lofoten Cottages a delightful stay, though it's advisable to confirm the specific amenities available in each cottage prior to booking.

Beds

Many guests found the beds to be very comfortable, praising the soft bedding and freshly made linens. Others, however, noted that the mattresses were overly soft and some beds, especially the double beds, were considered too narrow for two adults.

The elevated loft beds, accessed by steep ladders, posed safety concerns for children and some adults. Despite these challenges, the charm of the cottages and the picturesque location by the water make up for the sleeping arrangements for many visitors. It's clear that while comfort levels vary, there's a general appreciation for the overall experience at these unique cottages.

The cabins themselves are highlighted as being especially bright, tidy and clean with many guests appreciating the modern, hygienic facilities. The bathrooms, although sometimes located in separate buildings, are frequently noted for being very clean, heated, modern and in good working order. Kitchens in the cabins are well-equipped, adding to the appeal for those wanting a home-away-from-home experience.

However, some reviews do mention quirks such as the absence of running water in some cabins, requiring a short walk to the nearest bathroom facility. While this may be seen as a nod to the heritage and traditional charm of the accommodations, it did pose a minor inconvenience for some guests.
