Fairmont Chateau Laurier is perceived as offering remarkable services and having friendly staff, creating a welcoming environment for guests. However, some aspects do not align with typical five-star expectations. While the hotel provides complimentary items and is praised for its good value for money, there are noted shortcomings in service and amenities. Some guests were surprised at the lack of a comprehensive breakfast buffet and no free Wi-Fi, which is usually a standard in five-star establishments. The comfort level of rooms also fell short for some visitors. Despite having a huge pool, the restriction of only allowing ten guests at a time raised concerns. The hotel’s policy of accepting pets in the rooms surprised many, who felt it detracted from its five-star reputation.

Fairmont Le Chateau Montebello is a beautiful and historic hotel that offers guests an incredible getaway location surrounded by stunning grounds situated along the Outaouis river in the Laurentides. Guests can enjoy the convenience of the hotel's location with short walks to Montebello village and great trails for skiing and snowshoeing in the winter, perfect for nature lovers looking for a relaxing escape. While the breakfast buffet options may be slightly disappointing for the price, most guests still found the quality to be good. The dining experience at the hotel does not always match the high standard of the accommodation, but the attentive staff and excellent service make up for it. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and cozy for the most part with well-equipped facilities available, although some may show signs of age and in need of renovations. The hotel prides itself on its high level of cleanliness, especially with the COVID-19 safety measures in place. The staff is exceptional according to most guest reviews, making guests feel very welcome throughout the hotel. The hotel offers plenty of activities for guests with a beautiful spa experience complete with pools and hot tubs and numerous sports facilities, including a great indoor tennis court. Families looking for a relaxed stay with plenty of activities have lots of options to keep their children entertained. While some guests find the beds to be uncomfortable, Fairmont Le Chateau Montebello still provides a peaceful and comfortable stay with great discounts for room issues.
