Situated near Chambord, amidst the lush Sologne forest, this ancient château from 1902 combines historic elegance with modern comfort, surrounded by vast, wooded parks and enchanting flowered gardens. The picturesque setting, complete with a variety of birds and animals, provides an ideal backdrop for those seeking peace and tranquility away from the hustle and bustle of daily life.
The extensive and varied breakfast served in a serene dining room or on a terrace overlooking the park is a highlight for many guests. The spread includes fresh croissants, cheeses, fruits and other hearty offerings, emphasizing high quality and fresh ingredients, including farm products. The experience is enhanced by the attentive hosts and the charming atmosphere, making for a delightful start to the day.
Dinner at the château also receives high praise with many guests enjoying the simple yet satisfying home-cooked meals prepared by the castle's owner. The typically French 3 or 4-course menus, which also cater to vegetarians, offer great value and a rich cultural dining experience in a uniquely historic setting.
The château's rooms are consistently lauded for their cleanliness, comfort and spaciousness. Guests appreciate the blend of historic charm and modern amenities, noting features like comfortable beds, stylish furnishings and modern, well-equipped bathrooms. The rooms offer ample privacy, beautiful views and a cozy atmosphere, although some mention a touch of background music could enhance the ambiance further.
Impeccable cleanliness is a notable feature of Château Mont Suzey with both accommodation and public spaces maintained to a high standard. Guests feel welcomed and well-cared-for by the friendly and dedicated staff, including the resident pets who add to the homely feel.
While the Wi-Fi service can be inconsistent in some parts of the property, the overall amenities and the serene, dog-friendly environment compensate for this minor inconvenience.
