Location

Honua Kai Resort and Spa boasts an enviable location right on the beach, providing guests with easy access to the sandy shores and crystal-clear waters. The area is also home to plenty of nearby options for dining and entertainment with a range of restaurants and food trucks to choose from. For those looking to venture further afield, Lahaina is just a $20 cab ride away or a short, 5-minute walk along the "beach walk". Across the street, guests can find a mini strip mall that includes a grocery store, casual restaurants and snorkel rental. The hotel's great locale is also praised for its comfort and cleanliness and guests particularly loved having Dukes restaurant right there. All in all, visitors really loved this location and felt it was the perfect base for their Hawaiian vacation.

Although some guests encountered issues with cleanliness and supplies in their particular unit, the majority of the rooms are clean and contain everything needed for vacation cooking. The condo decor ranges from upscale and very nice to lacking in style, but the wonderful room size and great kitchen set up more than make up for any decoration shortcomings. With some rooms situated close to the beach, OUTRIGGER Honua Kai Resort and Spa is a fantastic accommodation choice for travelers who want to experience the ultimate tropical island vacation.

The OUTRIGGER Honua Kai Resort and Spa boasts an abundance of pools for guests to enjoy, providing tons of options to choose from. Kids in particular loved the pools and hot tub, which our guests found to be great and super fun for all ages. Although lounge chairs around the pool area were in high demand and the pool deck was a bit slippery, overall guests had a great time swimming and relaxing. Guests did note that the underground parking lot fills up quickly in the evenings and the BBQ pits could use better lighting. Despite these minor issues, the pool area felt safe and easy to social distance and even during Thanksgiving week, it wasn't overly crowded.
