Situated just outside Cangas de Onís, the hotel serves as a peaceful retreat with easy access to major attractions like the Covadonga Lakes and the Picos de Europa Natural Park. Surrounded by lush greenery and offering picturesque views, it’s both a tranquil escape and a convenient base for exploration. The modern, stylish décor further enhances the serene environment, providing a blend of comfort and aesthetic appeal.
Breakfast at the hotel is particularly well-received with guests praising its variety, quality and the freshness of the ingredients. The buffet includes homemade pastries, freshly made bread and natural orange juice, making it a hearty and enjoyable start to the day. While there are minor critiques about limited vegan and vegetarian options and the breakfast timing, the overall feedback is overwhelmingly positive.
The hotel does not offer dinner services, which some guests find inconvenient, especially for those preferring to dine in. However, the attentive staff compensates by providing excellent recommendations for local dining and assistance with reservations and delivery options. This flexibility allows guests to explore Cangas de Onís and its culinary offerings.
Rooms at Hotel Ecos del Sella are highly praised for their comfort, cleanliness and modern amenities. The bright and spacious design, coupled with stunning views, provides a restful atmosphere. Features like air conditioning, large TVs, minibars, safes and walk-in showers contribute to a broadly positive experience, though some guests have noted that the attic-style rooms can feel a bit cramped due to sloping ceilings.
The hotel’s commitment to cleanliness is evident across guest reviews with descriptions of the property as spotless and meticulously maintained. Daily cleaning services ensure that rooms and common areas stay fresh and inviting, enhancing the overall experience.
One of the hotel's strongest assets is its staff. Reviews frequently highlight their friendliness, attentiveness and willingness to go above and beyond to assist guests. Receptionists and other staff members are often mentioned by name, such as Lidia, Katy, Sandra, Laura, Eduardo and José Luis, underscoring the personal and caring service that guests receive.
However, the hotel struggles with WiFi connectivity, a point of contention among many guests. Poor coverage, slow speeds and frequent disconnections have been recurring issues, impacting those needing reliable internet access during their stay.
Parking at the hotel is highly convenient with ample, secure spaces available. Guests appreciate the monitored parking lot, which is easily accessible and stress-free, adding to the overall comfort of their stay.
Families find the hotel particularly accommodating with amenities such as play areas, cribs, high chairs and baby-specific tableware. The environment is relaxing and ideal for family vacations with cozy terraces and picnic areas providing plenty of space to unwind.
The comfort of the beds is another standout feature, often described as super comfortable and providing a good night’s rest. While there have been some isolated concerns about bed arrangement and softness, the general consensus is that the bedding contributes to a restful stay.
