Review Summaries

Summarized by AI

Location

The Amus Hotel & Spa is renowned among travelers for its ideal location. Nestled on the beachfront, the hotel offers a private beach with convenient underpass access. Guests can enjoy amazing sea views and stunning sunset sightings from their rooms or the hotel's beautiful terrace. The hotel is located close to Rhodes town, making it easy to explore the city's rich cultural heritage. Though the hotel is on the main road, which can be noisy and busy, it guarantees excellent access to taxis and public transport. However, some guests have expressed that walking on the street is uncomfortable due to traffic noise. The hotel's location is also convenient for accessing the airport, which is a short cab ride away. Although some reviewers have mentioned that the location is not great for walks because the area surrounding the hotel is noisy or dire, there are still many good restaurants and shops nearby. Overall, the Amus Hotel & Spa's exceptional location is one of the standout features and makes it a perfect base for exploring the island.

Breakfast

The breakfast at Amus Hotel & Spa was a mixed experience according to guest reviews. Some guests raved about the large variety of beautifully prepared food available at the grand breakfast buffet with many options and fresh ingredients. They praised the afternoon buffet as excellent and appreciated the opportunity to dine on the 10th-floor terrace with a view of the sea. However, other guests found the buffet breakfast not great with limited vegetable options and sometimes lukewarm food. Some guests were disappointed that there were no options for alternative foods and there was no information about allergens or ingredients readily available. Despite this, many guests praised the good variety and quality of the breakfast and found it to be a great choice for All-Inclusive guests. However, some guests were not impressed, finding the same breakfast options every day or stating that the food was of poor quality. Overall, although some guests had complaints, others found the breakfast varied, delicious and excellent.

Dinner

The dinner options at Amus Hotel & Spa offer a variety of choices for guests, such as the Italian restaurant that received positive feedback from visitors. The evening or lunch buffet is also reasonably priced and the food is plentiful with great serving. However, some guests felt that more variety in the food choices would be nice and the quality of food could be better. Vegetarian guests also felt that there were too few vegetarian dishes available and the staff not educated about vegan options. While the food may not be exceptional for some, the restaurant is very clean and the live music at dinner adds to the enjoyable ambiance. However, some guests had cold dinner experiences and the buffet was not great on some nights. There were also complaints about the illogical arrangement in the buffet, limited selection of vegetables and missing info about allergens or ingredients. Additionally, some guests felt that the requirement to wear long pants for men during dinner was unnecessary. Despite the criticisms, the complete and sufficient dining options were well-liked, including the a la carte options and Discovery menu with Greek specialties. Finally, it's important to note that there were extra charges for food around the pool and cocktails.

Rooms

The Amus Hotel & Spa offers a variety of rooms, including bungalows with comfortable and spacious interiors, some offering beautiful sea views from the balcony. While some guests found their rooms to be amazing and at a good standard, others were disappointed with outdated decor, small bathrooms and some maintenance issues such as broken seals or outdated equipment. Though some rooms were spotlessly clean and had comfortable beds, some guests experienced noise from surrounding rooms, while others complained that their rooms were not cleaned every day. The hotel also charged an extra fee for ice buckets. Upgraded and newly renovated rooms received positive reviews, especially those with panoramic views of the mountains and sea. However, some guests found the rooms to be too small or too old for a 5-star hotel.

Beds

Guests of the Amus Hotel & Spa have varied opinions on the comfort of the beds throughout the hotel. Some guests report that the beds were extremely comfortable and provided a great night's sleep. Others found that the sofa beds in the bungalows and downstairs rooms were uncomfortable and made it difficult to get a good night's sleep, especially if one needs to get up straight the next day. Some guests also received separate beds instead of the king-sized bed they were hoping for. Overall, the comfort of the beds seems to vary depending on the room and type of bed provided.

Cleanliness

Guests of Amus Hotel & Spa have mixed reviews when it comes to cleanliness. Some guests found the hotel and rooms to be extremely clean, spotlessly clean and modern. Others, however, complained about the hotel cleaning being a bit sloppy and the dustiness in the rooms. Some guests also reported that the shampoos and shower gels were not changed during their stay and the housekeepers did not tidy up the rooms properly. Despite this, many praised the hotel's COVID measures and cleanliness. Some guests mentioned that the common areas were clean and excellent, while others had issues with the bathroom in the entrance hall frequently being disgusting. Overall, the cleanliness of the hotel seemed to be a mixed experience for guests.

Staff

The staff at Amus Hotel & Spa are exceptional and go out of their way to create a special experience for guests. They are professional, fluent in many languages and attentive to every need. Many guests mentioned that the staff were kind, polite, helpful and friendly. However, some guests noted a divide in service between all-inclusive guests and those paying or staying in the Elite Suites. Some guests also experienced unfriendly or impatient staff, but these experiences were rare. Overall, the staff received high praise for their wonderful service, exceptional personal attention and great attention to detail.

Spa

The Amus Hotel & Spa offers guests a touch of luxury with its lovely spa, which many reviewers found to be stunning. While some guests did not mention the spa in their reviews, the hotel does have one and offers spa treatments including massage. However, there were mixed reviews on the quality of the massages with some guests finding them adequate while others had a bad experience with an inexperienced therapist. Despite this, many guests still raved about the amazing and wonderful spa facilities with lots of options available. The staff by the spa were described as friendly, except for one guest who encountered an unfriendly spa attendant. The spa area itself was beautifully renovated, but some areas like the sauna and Turkish bath were not functioning properly during some guests' stays. Additionally, some guests felt that the free spa area was not inviting and in need of updating. Overall, the hotel's location on the seafront added to the lovely atmosphere and the discovery menu featuring Greek specialties was a highlight for some guests.

Gym

The Amus Hotel & Spa has a decent gym that allows you to do a full-body workout, equipped with nice and modern TechnoGym machines. However, some guests commented that the 30-minute time limit per day is not enough and should be extended to at least 60 minutes. It would also be great if the gym could open earlier, around 6 or 7 in the morning, for those who prefer to exercise before breakfast. Despite the time limit, the gym is still considered nice by most guests who have used it. Additionally, the hotel staff is amazing and the overall appearance of the gym is great. One guest had an amazing time with the aqua gym pool dance and aerobics class led by Emma van. Although some reviews did not mention the gym specifically, the hotel does have a gym alongside other enjoyable facilities like a spa. Overall, guests love the hotel's location, cleanliness and friendly staff.

Pool

Amus Hotel & Spa offers multiple pools including an infinity pool, an indoor pool, outdoor pools, a lovely rooftop pool for children and an adult-only pool. There are plenty of sun shades and loungers available, although some guests complain about the lack of available deck chairs. The pool deck chairs are reportedly old and some guests found the entry to the water a bit difficult. Noise can be an issue in some rooms located near the pool due to a waterfall. The hotel also has a private beach area. The poolside service is pleasing, although the food and coffee at the pool bar are poor in quality and overpriced. Smoking is also reported by some guests as being an issue in the pool area. Overall, guests seem to have enjoyed both pool areas for their relaxation and cleanliness, despite some minor issues.

Beach

The Amus Hotel & Spa boasts a stunning and quiet beach that guests can easily access through an underpass. While the beach is equipped with sunbeds and parasols, some guests found that there were not enough lounge chairs. Unfortunately, the beach area could use some attention, but the great view of the sea more than makes up for it. The beach is pebbly, so it's essential to wear proper shoes when going for a swim. Despite not having a beach bar or service for drinks, the hotel is conveniently located near the beach. However, some guests with limited mobility found the steps in the tunnel to the beach challenging to navigate. Overall, it's a beautiful beachfront property with access to a beach and free sunbeds.

Parking

Guests of Amus Hotel & Spa have reported that the hotel offers reasonably priced car rental but there is no specific mention of the parking situation. Some guests have noted that parking is available but others have mentioned that the parking lot is small and insufficient for all guests. One guest suggested that the hotel should offer a shuttle service for transportation to and from the airport as parking options nearby are limited. Additionally, one review mentioned that parking is free. Overall, while the parking situation at the hotel varies from guest to guest, it seems that the hotel does offer parking options for guests.

Family

The Amus Hotel & Spa is a great place for families to enjoy a relaxing vacation close to Rhodes Town. There is a cool kids club on-site and a lovely little rooftop pool for the little ones. The hotel is family-friendly with an adults-only pool that still caters to families. However, some guests felt that the bungalows would benefit from renovations and more separation between the beds for families. There were also some comments that the hotel lacked activities for children, equipment and games. Despite this, the buffet offered a good choice of local and international cuisine. Guests enjoyed having their own space and would have appreciated reserved loungers near the family pool. Overall, families with young children had a super stay at this comfortable hotel.

5 Star

The Amus Hotel & Spa has received mixed reviews from guests regarding its five-star rating. While some guests praised the exceptional service and facilities of the hotel, others felt that it did not meet the standards expected of a five-star establishment. Some guests noted that although the hotel had the must-haves expected of a five-star hotel, such as hair dryers, the bathroom in the bungalows needed renovation. The hotel's location, views of the sea and sunset and recently renovated rooms were praised by some guests. However, others found the rooms to be dated and lacking atmosphere. Despite these mixed reviews, many guests recommended the hotel as a high-quality four-star option.

Outdoor Pool

The Amus Hotel & Spa features a variety of pool options for guests, including three outdoor pools and a baby pool. The rooftop pool is a lovely spot for little ones to splash around and the infinity pool offers stunning views from the 11th floor. While some guests found the outdoor pool overall nice, there were complaints about guests reserving sunbeds and not using them for hours and people smoking at the pool. However, others enjoyed pleasing poolside service and lots of chairs. Entry to the water in some pools was found to be a bit difficult. Some families with young children wished there were designated areas for families to sit near the pool. Overall, guests found the pools to be nice and clean.

Luxury

The Amus Hotel & Spa boasts a touch of luxury, providing guests with a pampered stay perfect for lounging in the sun. While some guests were disappointed with certain amenities, such as outdated hair dryers and in need of bathroom renovations, the hotel overall was clean and looked deluxe. Despite some negative reviews and the occasional opinion that the hotel falls short of five-star standards, many still found it to be a lovely and modern option with luxurious amenities and a high-end dress code. Some guests even noted the impressive duplex sea view rooms, though opinions on breakfast varied. For those who are accustomed to staying at upscale four or five-star hotels, some suggest spending your money elsewhere. Regardless of personal opinion, the hotel is undeniably luxurious with touches of decadence and elegance throughout.

Beachfront

Amus Hotel & Spa offers guests a truly beachfront experience with its prime location directly by the sea. The hotel boasts a private beach, providing guests with a secluded and exclusive spot to soak up the sun and swim in the crystal-clear waters. While some reviews did not provide specific phrases regarding the beach, it is clear that the hotel is situated close to the shore. Guests have raved about the stunning sea views and breathtaking sunsets that can be enjoyed from the renovated hotel. With its unbeatable location on the beachfront, Amus Hotel & Spa is the perfect destination for those seeking a beach getaway in luxury and comfort.
