The hotel is situated at the end of the Waikiki strip and many rooms offer stunning ocean views with beautiful sunsets. Guests praised the hotel's proximity to the beach, along with its convenience to shopping areas, restaurants and cafes. Overall, the property was highly rated for its location and its easy access to everything you want in a Hawaiian vacation.

While there may be some staff members who seem distracted or unfriendly (like a few at the Deck restaurant), they are in the minority. Overall, the staff is lively, kind, courteous and well informed, making for a fantastic stay. The customer service and cleaning staff are particularly excellent and always willing to help with recommendations for places to eat or things to see. Special shoutouts to Samantha, the Activities Agent, Calvin, the elderly gentleman who checked our luggage and Sylvia from the Deck - they all truly embody the friendly and hospitable spirit of the staff at Queen Kapiolani. Plus, the location is just a 3 minute walk to the beach, making for an ideal stay.
