Location

Mini Hotel in Genoa boasts an exceptional location, frequently praised in guest reviews for its strategic positioning in the heart of the historic center. Visitors appreciate its proximity to major attractions like the aquarium, the old port and the maritime museum, all easily reachable on foot. The convenience extends to transportation hubs with the Piazza Principe train station and metro stations being just a short walk away. The hotel's spot in the pedestrian zone places it amidst quaint alleys and historic streets, filled with restaurants, shops and bars, making it ideal for sightseeing and leisurely strolls. Guests highlighted the ease of reaching the bustling port area, which is perfect for those catching a cruise. The central location ensures that all major tourist spots and points of interest, including the Ducal Palace and various city squares, are accessible without needing transportation. The vibrant atmosphere of Genoa's old town, combined with the convenience of modern amenities nearby, makes Mini Hotel's location a significant advantage for both short and extended stays.

Breakfast

Mini Hotel, conveniently situated close to the port and the aquarium, is surrounded by a variety of breakfast options. The absence of an included or traditional breakfast service pushes guests to explore the charming nearby cafes and historical bars, which serve delicious pastries, coffee and local specialties like focaccia. Some guests felt that the paid breakfast was overpriced and lacked quality, suggesting it would be better included in the room rate. It's advisable for the hotel to consider agreements with local pastry shops or offer more in-room amenities like coffee bags and cups. While the hotel does not currently offer breakfast, the abundance of nearby options ensures that guests can still enjoy a satisfying start to their day outside.

Rooms

At the Mini Hotel, guests generally appreciate the cleanliness and spaciousness of the rooms. Most rooms are described as large, comfortable and equipped with necessary amenities like air conditioning, TV and WiFi. Many visitors highlight the simple yet cozy décor and the quiet environment that allows for a restful stay. The hotel's location in the center of Genoa, close to tourist attractions and the Old Port, is another positive feature frequently mentioned. However, some reviews note that the rooms could benefit from modernization as the furniture, bathroom fixtures and overall styling appear outdated. Issues like dim lighting, lack of blackout curtains and problems with fixtures such as shower doors or TV remotes were pointed out. The noise from neighboring rooms and the street due to poor soundproofing can be a downside for light sleepers. Despite these minor drawbacks, the rooms are consistently praised for being neat and tidy with daily cleaning ensuring a fresh environment. The hotel provides good value for money, especially for those looking for a brief stay or a no-frills base to explore Genoa. Overall, the Mini Hotel offers a satisfactory experience, particularly in terms of comfort and cleanliness.

Beds

Mini Hotel offers a mixed experience when it comes to the comfort of their beds. Many guests found the beds to be very comfortable with several reviews praising the super comfortable mattresses and excellent overall comfort. However, there are notable inconsistencies. Some guests mentioned that the beds were either too hard or too soft with one highlighting the discomfort of a saggy mattress. Others pointed out issues with low or overly firm pillows and some found the beds too small or narrow, requiring taller guests to curl up. While some rooms featured very comfortable beds, in others, people felt the springs in the mattresses or had to deal with beds that seemed almost falling apart. Reviews also noted that double beds often consisted of two singles pushed together, sometimes of different heights, detracting from comfort. Bedding and pillows received mixed feedback as well, ranging from moderately comfortable to outright uncomfortable.
