The InterContinental Shanghai Hongqiao NECC by IHG enjoys positive accolades for its strategic location and high-quality service offerings. Its prime proximity to the National Exhibition and Convention Center (NECC) makes it exceptionally convenient for business travelers and event attendees, facilitating easy access to trade fairs with direct entry to the exhibition center. Additionally, the hotel's closeness to Hongqiao Airport, the train station, and a nearby metro station amplifies its accessibility.
The breakfast experience stands out, receiving substantial praise for its varied and high-quality offerings. Guests delight in the extensive breakfast buffet, which includes international options like Indian dishes, enhancing the appeal and catering to diverse palates. Staff warmth and accommodation further elevate the dining experience. While the dinner service offers quality at the traditional Chinese restaurant and good room service, guests note that the buffet can lack variety and be costly. Despite some critique, certain dishes, such as grilled crawfish, receive commendation.
Room quality at the hotel is highly regarded, with spacious, clean, and modern accommodations providing a comfortable stay supplemented by amenities like Bose speakers. While issues such as odors or humidity are noted, the staff’s responsiveness to concerns underscores their excellent service. The hotel’s cleanliness is appreciated overall, with meticulous attention to detail in room upkeep, though occasional service lapses are mentioned.
