Situated on a hillside, it affords breathtaking views of the valley and city, ideal for travelers keen on exploring Madeira while enjoying tranquility. Its close proximity to the airport, beach, and main roads supports hiking and other excursions, making it a well-positioned base for exploring the island's natural splendor.
Guests are highly appreciative of the daily breakfast experience, featuring freshly baked bread and pastries delivered straight to their doors. This warm hospitality, led by the owner's wife, enriches the stay with thoughtful gestures such as fresh fruit and homemade wine, contributing to a memorable stay. The accommodating and friendly staff, including the commendable hosts Mr. António and José, are frequently lauded for their exceptional service and attentiveness, ensuring that visitors feel right at home.
The accommodations at Marques House are spacious and clean, providing a comfortable and functional environment despite some minor issues with bed comfort and kitchen cleanliness. While there are mixed reviews regarding bed comfort, with some noting variability in mattress quality and pillow condition, many guests still find the beds satisfactory and conducive to a restful sleep.
