Location
Muthu Glasgow River Hotel boasts a fantastic location, situated by the beautiful River Clyde with lovely views of Erskine Bridge. It's the perfect spot for exploring the wider Glasgow area with easy access to the airport and Braehead shopping centre. The lush green surroundings and river walk make for very pleasant strolls. The hotel is a gateway to the stunning Highlands and is a great spot for an overnight stop. Parking is plentiful and guests enjoyed the convenience of the location. Many highlighted the beautiful views from the room and the convenience of being close to Mar Hall. Overall, the location of this hotel was a key selling point for many guests.

Breakfast
Guests have mixed reviews of the breakfast at Muthu Glasgow River Hotel. Some found it underwhelming with overcooked and crispy food left under the hot lamps for too long and no milk for cereal. Tea and coffee were often too strong or had been sitting in hot urns for too long. Others found plenty of good food available, providing value for money with a good selection to choose from. Some guests found the breakfast excellent and very nice, while others found it poor quality or cold. There were also issues with some items, such as weird-tasting bacon, outdated yogurts and powdered scrambled eggs. Some guests experienced poor service with no attention from staff or mess-ups with their food. Despite this, some guests found the breakfast brilliant, lovely or really good with a buffet breakfast that was very good. However, the hotel could improve by offering decaffeinated tea bags, a better selection of hot breakfast food and improving the food quality. Nevertheless, the hotel's location near local shops was appreciated by some.

Dinner
The dinner experience at Muthu Glasgow River Hotel had mixed reviews from guests. While some enjoyed a lovely dinner and found the food to be good, others had a totally different experience. The food was described as awful, less than average and tasteless. A few guests mentioned that the food was cold, burnt or bland. Unfortunately, the same menu was offered both evenings and some guests had to eat their meals in the bar on unpresented wooden tables with no tablecloth. Some guests were not able to eat at the restaurant due to it being closed despite making a dinner reservation. Others found the staff to be uncommodating and unwelcoming. However, some guests enjoyed their evening meal and found it to be nice. One traveler reported that the meal was slow due to their chef being absent, yet the staff did their best to accommodate.

Rooms
The Muthu Glasgow River Hotel is a mixed bag when it comes to the rooms. Some guests report disgusting and outdated rooms with badly damaged furniture and uncomfortable beds. Others were pleasantly surprised to find clean and comfortable rooms with modern updates. Renovated rooms were generally well-received, while older rooms were reported to be in need of upgrades. Many guests took issue with cleanliness with stained carpets and dirty lamps reported. Some rooms had issues with functioning amenities, such as broken showers and non-working plug sockets. However, there were some positive reports of nice views, comfortable beds and spotless bathrooms. Overall, the hotel seems in need of some updates and better attention to cleaning, but there are some decent options for guests willing to take the gamble.

Beds
Guests at the Muthu Glasgow River Hotel had mixed experiences with the beds. While some found them to be comfortable, others found the mattresses to be rock hard or uncomfy with visible springs. The height of the beds was also a concern for some guests. However, many guests appreciated the clean sheets and towels at the hotel and found the beds to be of good value. Some guests also found the beds to be excellent and big and comfortable, while others simply described them as comfy or comfortable. Overall, opinions were divided about the beds at the Muthu Glasgow River Hotel.

Cleanliness
Despite some positive comments about the cleanliness of the Muthu Glasgow River Hotel, overall the reviews suggest that the hotel is in dire need of a deep clean and refurbishment. Guests reported dirty carpets, stained and mouldy bathrooms, unclean pool facilities and dirty hallways and reception areas. Many guests reported finding hairs on the furniture and floors and some said their rooms smelled of stale smoke. Some guests even found dirty cotton buds and old sticking plasters left on the floor. However, there were some guests who reported clean and tidy rooms and bathrooms with spotless sheets and comfortable beds. Overall, the hotel is in need of serious attention to improve its cleanliness standards.

Staff
Guest reviews of the Muthu Glasgow River Hotel are generally positive about the helpful and friendly staff, who are described as working hard to do their best for guests. Some reviews note that the staff are young and inexperienced, but still courteous and polite. However, there are occasional complaints about staff apathy, rudeness or lack of attention, particularly at breakfast or in the bar and a few guests report encountering unhelpful or unwelcoming employees. Despite some inconsistencies, reviewers generally agree that the staff make the hotel experience a more positive one with many praising their willingness to resolve problems or provide great customer service.

Spa
Unfortunately, many guests were disappointed by the spa facilities at the Muthu Glasgow River Hotel. Some arrived to find that the pool and spa were closed due to maintenance work or a broken heating mechanism. Others were upset to discover that spa treatments were not available or that the steam room, jacuzzi and sauna were out of order. Some guests described the spa as dirty or in need of repairs. However, there were a few positive comments about the pool with some guests appreciating its warmth and mentioning the nice view. While some travelers did enjoy the spa facilities, overall it seems that there were many issues that prevented guests from having a relaxing and rejuvenating spa experience.

Pool
The Muthu Glasgow River Hotel boasts a beautiful pool area, perfect for taking a dip on your vacation. However, it seems that during some guests' stays, the pool was closed for renovations or maintenance. This can be disappointing for those who planned to use the pool as a main attraction of their stay. Additionally, some guests noted that when the pool was open, the changing rooms and facilities weren't up to par with reports of uncleanliness and mold in some cases. Despite these setbacks, some guests did enjoy the pool and found it to be lovely and warm. Overall, the pool area is a nice addition to the hotel, but it seems there may be room for improvement in terms of maintenance and cleanliness.

3 Star
The Muthu Glasgow River Hotel, despite being advertised as a pet-friendly and budget option, unfortunately falls somewhat short of expectations. Many guests found the hotel to be outdated and poorly maintained with some likening its appearance to that of a building stuck in East Berlin in the 1950s. Although the hotel is currently undergoing renovations, guests have reported that it is in desperate need of some tender loving care. In particular, several facilities have been closed with the pool being unavailable during some guests' stays. The rooms themselves are also described as being dated and in need of a refresh with some reporting dirty windows. However, some guests did find the hotel to be good value for money, while others felt that it was simply adequate for their needs. Ultimately though, this hotel may not be the best option for those seeking a more luxurious stay.

Accessible
Guests with disabilities may face some challenges at the Muthu Glasgow River Hotel. Some lifts were out of order during some guests' stays and there were reports of wait times of up to 10 minutes. Some guests had to use service lifts, which were reportedly disgusting and could only fit one person at a time. Additionally, there were reports of building work going on in some rooms, noisy guests and difficulties with room keys. However, some guests did report an easy check-in process and a large free parking area. Guests with disabilities are advised to check with the hotel first to ensure their needs can be met.
