Summary of reviews
Summarized by AI
The Holiday Inn Express Burton Upon Trent by IHG, has earned positive acclaim from guests for several aspects of their stay. The hotel boasts a highly convenient and prime location, ideal for work trips, sports training and visits to local attractions like the National Memorial Arboretum and Screamfest. Its proximity to motorways ensures easy access, while the availability of local pubs, restaurants and shopping centers within walking distance adds to the convenience. Although some guests find the location slightly tricky to locate, the hotel's management is proactive in communicating parking limitations in advance, which is appreciated by visitors. The tranquil and family-friendly environment further enhances the overall experience.
Guests have also praised the breakfast offerings, noting a good variety and quality of options such as cereals, pastries and the typical full English breakfast. The buffet-style arrangement is both convenient and appealing, frequently refreshed and considered great value for money. The cleanliness of the dining area and ample seating contribute to a pleasant breakfast experience, though some have suggested a broader range of options for those with dietary restrictions.
Rooms at the hotel are consistently highlighted for their cleanliness and comfort. Many guests appreciate the comfortable king-sized beds and the well-appointed, modern rooms. Family rooms receive commendation for their spaciousness and suitability for both adults and children, although some guests have noted issues with room size and temperature control. Despite these minor drawbacks, the overall impression remains positive with rooms being described as spotless and a good value for money.
Cleanliness is a key highlight across the hotel with guests frequently pinpointing the immaculate condition of the rooms and facilities. Recent renovations have contributed to a modern and well-maintained environment. Alongside cleanliness, the hotel's staff is lauded for their friendliness and helpfulness, making the guests feel welcomed and well taken care of. Efficient check-ins and attentive service from all hotel areas further contribute to a pleasant stay.
However, the parking situation has received mixed reactions. While some guests appreciated the spacious and easy-to-find car park, others were dissatisfied with the additional charges for parking. The fee, although considered reasonable by some, was seen as an unnecessary extra cost by others who felt it should be included in the room rate.
For families, the hotel offers a clean and comfortable environment with a great location. Yet, there are concerns about the size of the family rooms and the comfort of additional beds like sofa beds. These points suggest the hotel might be better suited for smaller families or shorter stays.
Overall, the Holiday Inn Express Burton Upon Trent by IHG, is highly regarded for its cleanliness, comfort, convenient location and friendly staff, making it a reliable choice for various types of travelers.
