Summary of reviews
Summarized by AI
The Crowne Plaza Chicago Ohare Hotel & Conf Ctr by IHG, is praised for its strategic and convenient location. Guests frequently highlight the hotel's proximity to Chicago O'Hare International Airport, the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center, the Rosemont Theatre and the Fashion Outlets of Chicago, making it an ideal choice for travelers attending events, shopping or looking for easy airport access. Complimentary shuttle services and nearby public transportation add to the convenience, enhancing the overall guest experience.
Breakfast at the hotel receives positive remarks for its quality, taste and variety with several guests describing it as delicious and excellent. Vegan options and a good selection of fruit are particularly appreciated. Despite some complaints about the lack of gluten-free options, high costs and the absence of free breakfast, when it meets expectations, it leaves a lasting positive impression.
Dinner experiences are generally favorable, especially at the bar, where the quality and taste of food are highlighted. However, limited restaurant hours, the absence of room service and basic menu choices are points of contention for some guests. Despite these issues, the overall dining experience is often satisfactory.
Rooms at the Crowne Plaza are praised for being spacious, clean and comfortable with guests enjoying the quiet atmosphere and plush beds. However, some rooms are described as outdated and in need of repairs with issues like poorly functioning AC units and musty odors mentioned. Nevertheless, the combination of space and comfort remains a significant positive aspect of the guestrooms.
Cleanliness receives mixed reviews. While many guests describe the hotel as very clean and fresh, there are occasional issues with thoroughness in cleaning and outdated facilities. Nonetheless, the hotel's efforts to maintain cleanliness are appreciated by many.
The staff consistently receives high praise for their friendliness, helpfulness and professionalism. From check-in to check-out, guests commend the efficient, welcoming service provided by the front desk, management, shuttle drivers and restaurant staff, significantly enhancing the overall guest experience.
The gym and pool receive mixed feedback. The gym is valued for its availability but needs better maintenance and more diverse equipment. The indoor pool is appreciated for its size and operating hours but suffers from issues like cold water and occasional maintenance lapses.
Parking presents some challenges. While some guests find parking convenient, many are displeased with the high fees and occasional difficulties in finding a spot. Issues with multiple parking charges and a need for better parking garage maintenance are noted by several guests.
The beds in the hotel are widely praised for their comfort with many guests describing them as soft and cozy, contributing to a restful sleep experience. However, occasional complaints about bed firmness and size do surface but do not significantly impact overall satisfaction.
While the hotel is advertised as a four-star property, some guests feel it falls short in certain areas, particularly in terms of maintenance and cleanliness. However, the price-quality ratio is deemed reasonable and the location is highly appreciated, making it a value-for-money option for many travelers.
Finally, the Crowne Plaza is highly favored by business travelers due to its convenient location near the convention center and airport. The hotel provides a functional office setup, making it suitable for those attending meetings and conferences, despite some connectivity issues in the business center.
Overall, the Crowne Plaza Chicago O'Hare Hotel & Conference Center offers a mix of positive experiences, particularly noted for its location, staff service and comfortable accommodations, while certain areas like dining hours, room maintenance and parking fees could use improvement.
