Historic HotelIn the Middle Ages, the Deputy Governor of Touraine built this fortress and its dry moat. For generations, it was passed down until 1482 when it was bought. Unfortunately, time took a toll on the walls. During the Renaissance, Philibert Babou, the King's Treasurer, reconstructed the fortress and extended the moat. It is here were Marie Goudin, heiress of Bourdaisière and Philibert Babou, had her wedding. It is also here where the King of France, Francis I, stayed during his time in Touraine. Later, France's Minister of Defence fortified the castle and armed it with guns due to the troubled times.
