This historic hotel with its spacious rooms and beautiful garden, serves as an excellent base for evening strolls and attending events like family weddings.
The hotel receives high marks for its breakfast offerings, noted for their freshness, good variety and quality. While the breakfast service is typically prompt and friendly, there have been occasional lapses in organization and quality. Despite these few negative remarks, the overall breakfast experience is widely regarded as a significant perk.
Dinner at the hotel also garners mostly positive feedback. However, some reviews mention occasional issues with food quality and the availability of draft beer.
Guest views on the rooms are mixed. While many guests laud the spaciousness, cleanliness and comfort of the beds, others point out that some rooms are outdated and in need of maintenance. Noise from the bar, occasional cold temperatures and discrepancies in room descriptions also detract from the overall experience.
Cleanliness, while commended in certain areas, requires improvement. Guests have noted issues ranging from cobwebs and dust to more significant hygiene problems, such as visible dampness and cigarette odors in some rooms. The hotel could benefit from a more rigorous cleaning regimen to meet guest expectations.
