Guests can easily explore the downtown area, adjacent museums, the Center In The Square District of restaurants and bars by foot. While some guests complain about aggressive homeless people near the hotel, most agree that its location is perfect for exploring downtown and its historic surroundings. The hotel is also adjacent to dining areas and restaurants. Additionally, the hotel is within walking distance to market streets and Roanoke's city center making it perfect for those looking to visit Roanoke.

The staff may take some time shedding their masks against Covid, but that doesn't stop them from providing good customer service, constantly being helpful, welcoming and efficient. While some guests felt that the customer service did not match the price, there was no doubt that exceptional service could still be experienced with some minor exceptions, from the polite and courteous staff throughout the hotel.
